First Day of Summer - Summer Whites!

Happy First Day of Summer everyone!

It was a beautiful day worthy of the first day of summer and even though it eventually clouded over, we got good use out of the sunshine!

I decided to wear my summer whites in honor of the start of the season!

Devil is in the details...

Have you ever heard that expression before? lol I'm not all that sure what it means either, but I've heard it enough times to know that it has something to do with focusing on the smaller details of a bigger picture sometimes --or in this case, an outfit!

Summer is fast approaching (although you'd never know it from the city pouring) and I thought that what better way to prepare for summer than updating my accessories!

Red Hot!

When feeling blue, there is no better pick-me-up than a gorgeous pair of heels. Don't you agree?

I recently bought this pair of sky-high red pumps (on sale, fyi) from Aldo.  Up until this year, my choice of colors for both shoes and fashion have not strayed far from the neutrals and the basic greys -- so to get a pair of fire engine red shoes was definitely a statement piece.  Don't get me wrong, this is my third pair of red shoes, but none reach the heights this baby can!

Enjoy, savor and drool lol.  I know I did for the longest time before deciding to purchase it!

Sheer Blush and Neutrals

Today was a cloudy day but I was still hopeful that some sunshine will peak out of the clouds even for just a little bit...It was busy at work but I pushed through to get some paperwork done, even if not all...I love sheer blouses lately, I guess you could even say obsessed! I love that they give that feminine touch to a normal work outfit!

Outfit inspiration: sunday brunch!

Happy....monday!?

I decided to do another outfit pull for you...I decided to call this, Sunday Brunch! Yesterday was a beautiful sunday which my cousin and I spent walking around Robson.  I found this dress at Aritzia, which I was surprised was under $100! I hardly find any dresses there for under that price! lol.  It's from Talula and it's a great summer dress that can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion!

Happy Friday all! What a lovely day today, thought not as warm.  I thought I'd post an outfit that would be an ideal spring/summer date night outfit!

Spring/Summer Wishlist: from the beach to the bbq!

I've always loved any outfit that can take you from one place to another--not always from day to night but say, from going to the beach to a family barbeque or errands to coffee with friends.  There's nothing better than an outfit that can transform with a few accessories and seem so appropriate for one place as another!

Here's my first outfit pull for spring/summer...

read on to find out where you can find everything to pull the look too!

Celebrity Inspired: Jessica Alba

I loved the red jeans I got recently! I love the pop of color it gives my outfit!

I think it enhanced a blah casual friday outfit into a quirky, fun jeans friday!  I was rummaging through magazines at Chapters the other day and saw this outfit worn by Jessica Alba (picture from US magazine online)  that gave me an idea! Since I already had the jeans, i thought it'd do a celebrity inspired look!

I love the color combo! color-blocking has always been one of my faves when it comes to outfits.

I usually put red accents when I go monochromatic black and white, but this time, I actually wore one article of clothing in red!

Shoe of the Day!

As with everyone, I am looking forward to Spring--pastels and Easter weekend.

I can't wait for the rain to just dissepate already, having seen some sunshine the last couple of days as a teaser for what's to come.

I thought that with spring in mind, the shoe of the day should reflect my feeling of today.  Don't be fooled, it's ugly outside today especially for a friday!  I am just comforted by the fact that the sunny season is just around the corner.

I love that pastels are in this S/S 2012 season.  The laser cut-out with the peek-a-boo contrasting color is just too cute!  I personally love laser cut-out shoes having my own purchased from BEBE several seasons back.  It mimics the basket weave but allows for more patterns in an intricate manner that only a laser-cut can do.

I thought because I was talking about spring/summer shoe wear that I'd also post an honorable mention...

Christmas Party weekend!

This weekend was a crazy busy weekend filled with both mine and my boyfriend's work christmas parties.  The weekend started off with us rushing to get to River Rock Hotel & Casino, check in right away and then make sure that everything is set up at Tramonto Restaurant for the dinner.

Most everyone was late, and unfortunately my other boss didn't make it due to a personal reason, but all in all it was a great night and things went off without a hitch.  The field guys behaved themselves for the most part and we did our company name proud.

On Saturday, we went to my bf's work party at the Convention Centre downtown.  It was a little hard nursing a slight hangover from the night before but we made it on time to check in, relax and enjoy the room before rushing to get ready and getting down in time for the announcement to take our seats.  It was very different from my work christmas party as it was over 3000 people in attendance!  I had fun even if the headache didn't really go away.  The party was a success, and big enough that it included a football sized main area, and a small jazz lounge upstairs! lol.  It was an amazing night.

if you wanna see both my outfits and the rest of the pics...

Can't get enough of...

Okay, so it's not like I don't have enough shoes already...From a previous post, the shoe shelf doesn't exactly plead my case for my need for more shoes lol.  I just couldn't resist! I don't normally buy shoes from Aldo, but this one just kinda leaped out of the bunch and said 'buy me!' lol.

Love, love these shoes! Metal heel, platform that goes upto about 5 inches? it's a match made in shoe heaven!

Cold Weather must-have: Uggs!

Say what you will about them guys...I still love wearing 'em!

I loved my last pair of imitation uggs from aldo lol.  I wore it for 6 years or so and it served me well during my moments of frumpy errand-filled days....When we moved I knew that my Aldo boots days were numbered and I bought an actual pair of uggs the first opportunity I got!

Bag-tacular!

Yes, that title was lame lol...i just suddenly thought of Hugh Grant in 'Two Weeks Notice' saying 'belt-acular' lol.
I recently bought a new bag from Aldo (which at some point this year, i swore i wouldn't do anymore) which i found to be both cute and practical.  It still fails by comparison to my LV, but it will have to do for an everyday bag.
It fits most of what I was able to pack into my LV, though with less space afterwards.
I do love the multiple compartments, one in the back where the bag flap is...

One big one in the middle..
...and a flap in the front, for all my non-sensical receipts.
I also quite like the hardware details in this bag, as I have always been attracted to the details in a bag that make it unique and stylish.
It has an easy metal twist lock...It was the last in the store and so I took the display which had a few scratches...
The one feature that I liked about this bag the most? The fact that it had both a handle and a strap.  It's nice to have the option of having both the strap and the handle...

I love both my higher end bags and lower end bags.  They both serve their purpose, although I'm noticing that I have little use for so many trendy bags as I barely use them anyways.  Practicality and style top my needs in order to buy a bag.

August Haul!

It was a beautiful weekend...the only sad thing about it is knowing my bf is stuck at home with a dislocated shoulder...

At the same time that I went on a little haul to pass the time, aside from spending saturday afternoon at the beach.
NARS - orgasm blush &
laguna bronzer duo
Hollister Blue ruffle dress with white polka dots...great steal! reg. price about $80 but got it for i think $40 after tax!
A necklace from BCBG...isn't it nice how they wrapped it beautifully into a box with a ribbon? i wasn't even giving it as a gift!

Okay, so I bought something very similar at Aldo, sue me lol.  I can't help but love these boomerang style necklaces! This one was reg. price $20 (no sale unfortunately) but still a great price!
Even though I'm not going for a trip anymore, I'm glad to still find some great deals all over town! =)

Dream weavin' for spring 2011!

Okay, so the temperature still hasn't cracked 0 degrees, and the more sun we seem to see the lower the temp seems to drop...Nevertheless it still hasn't stopped me from thinking of spring!  I am anticipating the warmer weather, when I can finally strut my stuff in less clothing! lol.

I love some of the spring trends, the bright colours, minimalist whites and okay, even the florals lol.  There is one trend which comes back every year and make it into some fashion house spring fashion line-up for their ready-to-wear collection, the weave pattern.  I love the basket weave pattern, it's so spring/summer! It looks like refreshing and a great contrast for minimal whites.

Some of the few things that have caught my eye!

BCBG - Lille Perforated leather clutch and handbag.
Laser-cuts make it easier to make a weave pattern on all types of textiles especially leather.  I love this.

Honourable mention: BEBE Lucie Lasercut sandal in Black, white and khaki (or 'cognac')

Aldo:

Rossetto
Amer

In any accessory, the lasercut or weave pattern is a great way to add spice to your spring/summer wardrobe.  I love using it as a contrasting piece to make minimalist white pop more.  So many to choose from!

Feelin' great at 28!

I had a blast last weekend for my birthday!  All in all it was a great day and night!

It started in the afternoon by gallavanting with my cousin around robson on a sunny--but cold day! We had fun and bought our last minute stuff for that night.  Then I came home to a yummy dinner with the familia, bbq and of course, noodles--it's a must for long life as my parents like to say...then finally, off for some more fun at night with family and friends! loves!

The night started off with alot of waiting (epic fail on Icon promoters for that!) and but when we did get in, everyone quickly go into the party mode.  It also helped that they were playing good music for most of the night!  As soon as my feet and the rest of me defrosted, I was all up for a party!

It was a great night, having my bf, brother and cuz and the rest of the our friends to party with us!  There is nothing more fun that partying the night away with loved ones =)

Alotta Nude goin on this fall!

I love neutral colours!  Give me a nude shoe and I am in heaven!

I finally bought the shoes from Aldo, Lanclos - msrp $120.00 (CDN) for a great deal! I am soooo happy!

Nothing is better than to not only get your fave shoes, but to get it at more than half the price!  The sale price ended up being $55.99 in the end.  Sweet!

I love the colour of this shoe! Neutral means that it matches with alot of outfits and colour schemes!  The height it gives me is just mah-velous! lol.  Sitting at 5.25 inches, it is just the prettiest pair of maryjanes!

Ode to Birkin

I am lovin' my new bag!

I recently purchased a bag from Aldo, somewhat Birkin-esque and in beautiful camel colour...I am sooo inlove with this bag!

It is called the Cyphert - $45.00 (CDN)
I love the details they have put into this bag, the tassel at the front, which with the strap in the front (for deco purpose only!) gives it that Birkin-ish style to it.  It also has a longer strap, just in case you get tired of holding the bag.  Very smart and very in at the moment, I say!

The image is in the red which they call rust, which I absolutely adore!  I bought the beige colour, but I just love the style that I may end up getting all three colours! lol.

I love that it is big enough for all my stuff, and yet sophisticated enough to bring me from daytime at work to night-time social hour! .luvs.

Double Duty Outfits: work to happy hour!

I am one of those women...

9-5 work weeks and happy hour with the gals when it's been a rough week.  I live in my work clothes being that I work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day (lunch not included lol).  I find that having pride in your look says alot about you to your clients and customers, and looking good and presentable gives them an impression that you mean business.

With that said, there is nothing wrong with wearing outfits for work that double as an apres work hour socializing with the gals.

If you're like me, then you would appreciate where I'm coming from with this entry.

Today's work outfit is the Black sheath dress...

I take my fashion queues from Ms. Beckham--a great sheath can give you a sexy yet professional look at the same time.  Great fit and fabric are important, and that it hits every curve of your body correctly!

This one was a relatively inexpensive sheath.  It was about $30 bought at a smaller boutique store (which the name narrowly escapes me at the moment) and is my fave go-to for work.  It doesn't reveal much and yet hugs every curve of my body perfectly.  It is also a great outfit for work that, with a few accessories, can turn into an after-work gathering outfit! luvs.  In order change up for the night time, one can just switch accessories like add more blingy jewelry and either change shoes or pair with a different blazer or jacket, and voila! social hour outfit in a snap!

In this pic, I paired a simple black sheath with taupe guess plaform pumps and topped it with a red Aldo belt for effect!
