beats:: sunloverz vs. rosette - fire
OOTD:: Black urban behavior racerback, White Hollister henley and Indigo American Eagle skinny jeans (and my winter boots of course)
fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: winter boots =)
Depending on how it looks, this could still be about fashion. I was on my usual lunch break walks to Ironwood near my work, and I decided to take some pics. They're not professional photos but I thought that the day was pretty enough that abit of documenting is a must!
It's a gloriously beautiful friday--the sun came out just around noon and has somewhat lingered.
I was on my usual jaunt to get my coffee and go to the library and stew. As always, I like to keep warm!
I know, I look like a big dork but I sacrifice fashion for the warmth these days as I traded in my beautiful, new camel coat for a nice down jacket and a blue dorky but warm toque with earflaps,. And to think, i used to make fun of the people who wear the same toque! lol. Cruel irony.
Oh, and I can't forget to mention that they have replaced the 'no stopping' sign that was ruthlessly rammed twice!
Yay! no more bended sign! lol. The things I get excited about these days haha so weird. But hey, destroying public signs is illegal, isn't it!?
Anyways, I just thought I'd share the beautiful day that's upon us before it starts to rain again. It's something small to cherish on a friday afternoon filled with stress!! =)
Even with the clouds sticking around, there's sun somewhere lurking and trying to come out...\
Happy Friday!

Ode to Birkin
I am lovin' my new bag!
I recently purchased a bag from Aldo, somewhat Birkin-esque and in beautiful camel colour...I am sooo inlove with this bag!
It is called the Cyphert - $45.00 (CDN)
I love the details they have put into this bag, the tassel at the front, which with the strap in the front (for deco purpose only!) gives it that Birkin-ish style to it. It also has a longer strap, just in case you get tired of holding the bag. Very smart and very in at the moment, I say!
The image is in the red which they call rust, which I absolutely adore! I bought the beige colour, but I just love the style that I may end up getting all three colours! lol.
I love that it is big enough for all my stuff, and yet sophisticated enough to bring me from daytime at work to night-time social hour! .luvs.

Bring it on, Ol' man winter! =P
Today I went to the mall to find my very first pair of snow boots...Yes, you read right, my very first pair! It's hard to believe that I've lived in a city with four seasons to speak of, and I have yet to be prepared for the toughest season, Winter!
This year is different, however! I decided to splurge on a pair of All Weather boots.
It was hard for me to commit to these at first, seeing as how I would usually gravitate to a pair of fashion boots or those with heels that probably will do more harm for me during the wintery season than good.
With Thermolite, it's an all weather boot that keeps warmth and is good for upto -20 degrees. All man-made materials, PVC and rubber sole.
I am excited to sport these and see how well they fair against winter...
Now all I need are a new pack of thermal socks, a new toque (courtesy of work!) and I will be all set...
Like I said, bring it on Ol' man winter! I am ready for ya!~*

Monday of discontent.
beats:: memories - david guetta ft kid cudi
OOTD:: Garage Henley 3/4 sleeve tee and leggings, Sirens over the knee boots and Juicy Scarf
fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: Juicy Wool scarf
It's been one of those gloomy days...
It's been such a bad weather day today, I would rather just be at home and sleep. Why oh why did I have to go to work today!?
My love for fall has been given a rude awakening today when I left my doorstep to an ugly mess of rain and wind on my way to work. I still love fall, although I now remember the ugly part of the season lol. I have been rekindled with my cold weather gear, taking out one piece after another of cold weather items that help keep my lil' self cozy.
As of late, I have been using my scarf, crochet toque, boots and even my thermal socks at times (if you can believe it, it's just that cold in my mind! lol) but the last of the gear will be the earmuffs and I guess the down jacket, which I know will come soon, but I'm hesitant too admit that Fall has come full blown with a vengeance from last year's mousy weather. This year promises to be a crazy, cold winter, and as I've mentioned previously--I've heard the coldest in over 50 years. I'd love to see some snow this year, but I'm also fearful that it will come in bunches.
Be careful what you wish for I guess...
I look forward to some calmer weather....At this point, I'm just hoping for a cloudy, calm day. One can't be too greedy and ask for some sunshine when one sees pouring rain, wind gusts and darkness!
I hope everyone's monday isn't as bad indoors as it looks outdoors. Keep warm and cozy!

Back to basics: Winter 2010 Edition!
I've been hearing lately that because of the whole La Nina phenomenon, Vancouver is supposedly going to be getting the worst winter since 50 years ago. If that hasn't scared me, I don't know what will! lol. I am convinced that I am more than ever going to need more cozy, winter-proof clothes to keep me from getting sick this winter!
I recently went to Aritzia with my cousin because I've been dying to see their henley tee's. I have been looking for henleys all summer long for fall and finally, they start coming out, slowly but surely! I recently bought one from Garage. Not too long ago, they were not so easy to find!
The one I ended up buying...
It wasn't too expensive, just $19.90 (CDN). 100% cotton and very soft! I love when my basic wear is suuuper soft! =)
Then a couple of days ago, I perused the Aritzia website hoping that they'd at last put up a catalogue of items they sell, at least some if not all and at least from their TNA line if nothing else! Huzzah! they did!=)
Here are the henleys I found from Aritiza...
Community Wool Henley - Retail $60 (CDN) - Wool/Nylon Blend for a soft feel without the super itch I can only imagine lol. I recently saw this in person (even asking the salesperson to find it for me! lol) and I have to say, it doesn't have the feel of wool. The price seems abit steep but for wool, I guess it should be right on the money.
The other is The TNA Henley Tee version. I think it's only cotton, but I wasn't able to find it so I'll have to confirm once I see it in person this weekend.
TNA Henley T-shirt - Retail $45 (CDN)
Standard henley tee, great for layering on top of tanks for more warmth. I love the white, though the details are hard to see in this image.
Having a jacket that provides maximum protection and warmth for winter time is important, but so is knowing how to dress warmly for indoors as well. Sometimes, it's just as important to know how to layer to keep warm while outside but not be too warm once you get indoors.

The Big Chill
beats:: tears for fears - everybody wants to rule the world
OOTD:: Black Zara Blazer, White Forever 21 v-neck t-shirt, Garage Black Leggings, BEBE black/cream booties.
fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my black/cream booties from bebe! luvs!
Like I've been mentioning, the colder weather is here...I mean definitely here.
I've been coming home late nights feeling the big chill in the air, and even though the sun manages to shine during the daytime I still feel a tingling chill up my spine that tells me it's not summer anymore! lol. I loved summer, but I'm somewhat looking forward to what the fall/winter season will bring. I have been seeing countless number of sales at the malls for outerwear, anticipating for the cold return of the winter air.
I've been thinking recently that one of the pieces I need to replace this year would be my cream coat. I love the cream coat and I'd hate to lose it, but it looks all beaten up and may need replacing. Sad but true. I hate shopping for coats. I used to grab the first cheap coat I found and buy it, but there's more to consider these days when buying winter outerwear.
For any outerwear I buy for the colder weather (excluding my blazers) I always try to look at the inside tags to give me an indication on the level of warmth it will give. I am fussy when it comes to staying warm--I am sensitive to the heat and cold, so having the right level of warmth is very important to me.
In the next few weeks, I will be shopping around for a new winter coat and a down jacket, maybe even a peacoat and will take this blog through my agonizing journey to replace my old cream coat and my Ralph Lauren Down jacket. While the RL down jacket may survive one or two more winters, the cream coat from Zara will be sorely missed! lol.

Top 5 must-haves for fall/winter 2010
Since I discussed my pure joy for shopping (along with the teens) for clothes during the second-most busy time of the year for retail, I thought I'd discuss the few items I'm looking for at the moment.
Every year, I add on to my existing wardrobe, some of the must-haves of the season that complete my seasonal best look.
I only picked 5 because I don't compile huge lists to buy (that's kind of how you get bankrupt! lol). I check my wardrobe instead for things that I may really need and add on to it. I add as the season progresses...
