Vancouver Public Library

I just wanted to share the majesty of this structure.  Isn't it beautiful? The public library is one of the architectural structures I am very proud of and still in awe of in downtown.

So zee bf once asked why I always take shots around town and end up looking like some tourist...I say, with a city this beautiful who wouldn't?

Just wanted to share another angle of the library!

TGIF! What are you upto this weekend?

I am slightly tired albiet in a good mood.

It's Friday folks! :-)

The morning weather is just gloomy and drizzly, and along with the rest of Vancouver I am anticipating the better weather that TWN promised later in the afternoon lol.

We have been promised good weather for the weekend of course, and with that comes events in and around town!

VPL: sunday funday in downtown!

Vancouver Public Library - downtown location

My city has and is always a source of pride for me.  Imagine my shock when it was so violently rioted during the sad end to our stanely cup run not too long ago.  It's a beautiful city that deserves the love and respect from its people.  Last sunday I had a chance to hang out at the local library.  Yes folks, this is our main library located in downtown Vancouver, not the Colosseum in Rome. I'm not quite sure when the phrase came up in front of the library but the meaning seems to both baffle and intrigue everyone that comes across it.

It's not technically a throwback thursday, but the structure has been a downtown fixture since I was in highschool, so I guess that counts right?

Enjoy!

TGIF: Flower Blazer for fridate!

Whenever the sunshine shows up and the end of the week rolls up, it's sure everyone's making a run for the door before the end of the work day--I'm no exception.  I love Vancouver all year round (even in the freezing temps!) but nothing shows Vancouver's beauty and wonder like a nice sunny day (be it winter, summer spring or fall) especially at the end of the week!

I was inspired by the beauty of the day and thus, for our weekly fridate I decided to dress with the spring blooms in mind. To check out what I wore...

Touring the City :: coral romper!

Saturday was a girls' day for me since my bf was working. My cousin and I decided to tour the city and explore. We love being tourists in our own hometown --you find out more about your own city that way!

Another day in paradise...

Today was a gorgeous and very hot day in Vancouver!  Even with the heat beaming down, there were still tons of people in downtown enjoying the day.  That's what I love about Vancouverites, they know never to waste a gawh-geous day with icky stuff like errands! lol.

A day walking around Robson, walking down to English Bay and having some drinks with the lovely view of the beach!

I hope your saturday was as lovely as mine!

Dine out 2010: the lost pics

So I was perusing the old pics in my camera when I happened upon these pics from Dineout two years ago....How time flies! It was the year of the Olympics and Dine out was pushed forward to January to accomodate for the flooding of tourists coinciding with the annual Dine out which usually happened in February.

I had dinner at Mosaic Bar & Grill at the Grand Hyatt Hotel with my cousin.  It was not bad of a dining experience although I am quite disappointed that they did not add this to my Open Table points even though we clearly made it to the reservation.

It was, in my opinion, a cold cold day to be wearing a skirt considering it was in the middle of January and even though the snowfall was less than anticipated it was still chilly nonetheless.

To find out what I wore that night...

VFW: Fall/Winter 2012

It's that time of the year again, ladies....

It's when all of Vancouver come together to celebrate all things fashion and fabulousness!  It's a week of designers finally being able to showcase their Fall/Winter 2012 collection!  Held at Masik Studios the previous year, this year's choice of Catwalk venue will be at the Chinese Cultural Centre at 50 East Pender street--the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown.

With over 30 designers showcasing their collections, it's worth the price of admission!

Though not yet fully confirmed, I full intend on making an appearance for at least a couple of the shows.  I love fashion week--getting to see the collections, to who's wearing what and just the general excitement to be around the creativity and beauty.

I hope to see you all there!

A Happy Union

I would like to take a non-fashion related (or maybe it is...) moment to congratulate the happy couple, Mr. and Mrs. McCann.  They celebrated their union filled with love and joy with friends and loved ones last saturday at Heritage Hall.  It was a small affair, starting with the Justice of the Peace ceremony the day before, and then a reception to follow the next day.

There is nothing that brings me more joy and happiness than to see a couple celebrate their love in a true and genuine way--no frills or fancy tricks.  I know for sure their marriage is one that will last.  She is one of few that celebrated a marriage, not just a wedding.

Congratulations Lorraine and Greg!

May your lives be filled with joy, love and happiness....

Vancouver, Ottawa make Top 10 list for badly dressed

Wow, I am a vancouverite and I am ashamed!  Where are Clinton Kelly and Stacy London when you need them!!??

I get it, the birth place of yoga pants and all things comfort wear which is Lulu Lemon is in Vancouver.  Aritzia has its own version of the ever-popular yoga gear as well...but where does it all end?  The WTNW duo warned us about this, the lines between comfort and slouch in certain occasions...little did we know it would haunt a whole city! ack!

Labour Day weekend in the city

For Labour Day this weekend, I stayed within the city limits...Nothing really exciting to report--dinner on friday night at Guu with an old friend to catch up, went to the Aritzia Sale on saturday afternoon and walked and did a mini-tour of downtown then stayed in with the bf for most of the time.  It was still a fun long weekend, especially since it was a four-day weekend for me instead of a 3...Labour Day was still fun!

fyi: if anyone at all has noticed, I mis-spelled 'Labour' in Labour day and spelled it the American way lol.  technically i'm somewhat not wrong, though since we go by the spelling here with the 'u' i had to revert back to it!
