Weekend Round-up: Brooklyn and Memphis Blues

I love weekends, especially sunny ones.  I was able to leave early once again after what seemed like a week in hell. lol.  It was one of those days when everything that could go wrong, did.

I had fun although the consequences of friday came back to haunt me on saturday lol.  All in all I still had a fairly good weekend, which is all that I ask and all that I require to rejuvenate me for the next week.

Tweed Blazer: 3 Ways

I think my love for the tweed blazer is somehow intertwined with my immense love for Chanel and all things elegant and luxurious.  I have always thought that Coco Chanel epitomized the elegant woman--wise before her time, she knew what made a woman stand out and look beautiful even with just two colors on a palette to work with (or lack of color thereof!)

Check out the the ways I've styled my tweed...

Chicago: September 2013!

I am happy to announce that I have cemented my only big vacation of the year --Chicago! I am so excited about this, I have always wanted to visit the city, with or without Oprah on tv lol.  I have always heard of the city being one of the cities for culinary wonder, the spirit of the city (that is much like my own about my hometown), the city skyline and more!

I am ecstatic that Choose Chicago on Twitter even gave me some suggestions on where to go! Thanks for the help! I am literally counting down the days...

Chi town, here I come!

Spotlight: New summer sandals!

You like?

I saw these while at Kingsgate Mall browsing at Payless while waiting for my ride.  I was just going to wander when I found these tucked away between some running shoes and heeled shoes.  It was what I was looking for this summer, open toed flats--and wouldn't you know it, it was in my size! The best price? um hello! it was less than $50! What a bargain!

Just thought I'd share! Happy Monday and goodnight! :-)

Maxi-mize for summer!

maxi dress from GAP
Along with summer dresses, another trend I've grown to love lately is the maxi dress.  Another great, versatile piece to have during summertime, it can double as an easy piece to wear on a lazy day or a surprisingly more common type of dress to wear for weddings! It gives that beautiful bohemian thrown-together-last-minute look.

A throwback of my fave maxi dress (that unfortunately shrank, tho I can't say it's a bad thing) the nautical stripe dress I proudly bought in NYC last year and to this day is one of my fave maxi dresses!

Here are other dresses that have caught my eye!

The perfect Summer Dress

Hola!

I can sense that summer is upon us! Oh, the glorious breeze that only the transition of spring to summer brings, the cute summer outfits and the patios crowded with those enjoying the sunshine!  I previously posted this pic of my summer dress below...a cute dress I got from Urban Behavior a few months ago.  I loved the crochet detailing on the hem and the ruffles on the bustline.  It's so cute!
A great summer dress can range anywhere from $20 to $100 depending on the detailing and the type of fabric you choose..It can be a straight cotton dress to a mix of crochet, lace and cotton all bundled together to make you perfect dress!

Here are other summer dresses worth checking out...

Vancouver Public Library

I just wanted to share the majesty of this structure.  Isn't it beautiful? The public library is one of the architectural structures I am very proud of and still in awe of in downtown.

So zee bf once asked why I always take shots around town and end up looking like some tourist...I say, with a city this beautiful who wouldn't?

Just wanted to share another angle of the library!

TGIF! What are you upto this weekend?

I am slightly tired albiet in a good mood.

It's Friday folks! :-)

The morning weather is just gloomy and drizzly, and along with the rest of Vancouver I am anticipating the better weather that TWN promised later in the afternoon lol.

We have been promised good weather for the weekend of course, and with that comes events in and around town!

VPL: sunday funday in downtown!

Vancouver Public Library - downtown location

My city has and is always a source of pride for me.  Imagine my shock when it was so violently rioted during the sad end to our stanely cup run not too long ago.  It's a beautiful city that deserves the love and respect from its people.  Last sunday I had a chance to hang out at the local library.  Yes folks, this is our main library located in downtown Vancouver, not the Colosseum in Rome. I'm not quite sure when the phrase came up in front of the library but the meaning seems to both baffle and intrigue everyone that comes across it.

It's not technically a throwback thursday, but the structure has been a downtown fixture since I was in highschool, so I guess that counts right?

Enjoy!
