Dream weavin' for spring 2011!

Okay, so the temperature still hasn't cracked 0 degrees, and the more sun we seem to see the lower the temp seems to drop...Nevertheless it still hasn't stopped me from thinking of spring!  I am anticipating the warmer weather, when I can finally strut my stuff in less clothing! lol.

I love some of the spring trends, the bright colours, minimalist whites and okay, even the florals lol.  There is one trend which comes back every year and make it into some fashion house spring fashion line-up for their ready-to-wear collection, the weave pattern.  I love the basket weave pattern, it's so spring/summer! It looks like refreshing and a great contrast for minimal whites.

Some of the few things that have caught my eye!

BCBG - Lille Perforated leather clutch and handbag.
Laser-cuts make it easier to make a weave pattern on all types of textiles especially leather.  I love this.

Honourable mention: BEBE Lucie Lasercut sandal in Black, white and khaki (or 'cognac')

Aldo:

Rossetto
Amer

In any accessory, the lasercut or weave pattern is a great way to add spice to your spring/summer wardrobe.  I love using it as a contrasting piece to make minimalist white pop more.  So many to choose from!

burn, baby, burn!! lol

I was wanting to find the best cardio work-outs that will maximize my time at the gym during work-outs.  There are fitness and health magazines that provide great tips and even some videos to download for work-outs.

I love that the ability to get fit is within your reach, even with some helpful tips that motivate and educate.

Ms. Mars you make thirty look gooood!

Speaking of working out, I read this article way back sometime in 2010 about one of my fave celebrities and her health regimen and lifetstyle.

I first encountered Kristen Bell from her hit show Veronica Mars, and ever since then I've been a fan.  I thought that her character was pretty awesome, brains and beauty--but even the person herself is quite intriguing.  She defies the laws of ageing, looking good (and young!) at 30.

As I have mentioned a time or two...hundred lol I admire celebrities that live life as naturally as they can, staying true to their own self.  Those that embrace their shape and natural beauty are positive role models as opposed to those that dwindle and become a faint reflection of their former healthy self--take for example a very bony Angelina Jolie or Nicole Richie.

If not for her entertaining charm and wit, read the article for some tips =)

The party's over....time to work it off!

Oh motivation, where have you gone!?

My birthday month has been one of indulgence--shopping, eating and partying, all of which have put a toll on my physical state.  My once toned self has once again reverted back to it's tubby, flabby state.  They say that the hard part isn't to lose the weight and excess fat, it's keeping it off after!

I was so proud of myself when I accomplished what I once deemed impossible--working out the way I want to.  I love the unconventional ways that Tantra has thought of to work the body out, with pole dancing for upper body strength and pussycat dolls routines to tone all over.  Unfortunately, being the only one of its kind in the lower mainland has made it quite expensive to keep up and so when the punch cards ran out, our work-outs stopped.

Enter golowdeals.com! A $100 voucher for a year's membership is exactly what I needed to kick-start my old resolution!

Hello, 2011.  New year, new resolutions, and of course some old ones.  I promised myself I would work hard to revert back to my once toned self, and keep it this time.

Today is day one of my work-out sesh with my cuz and bf.  They say that working out with others helps to motivate...I hope they are true!

Feelin' great at 28!

I had a blast last weekend for my birthday!  All in all it was a great day and night!

It started in the afternoon by gallavanting with my cousin around robson on a sunny--but cold day! We had fun and bought our last minute stuff for that night.  Then I came home to a yummy dinner with the familia, bbq and of course, noodles--it's a must for long life as my parents like to say...then finally, off for some more fun at night with family and friends! loves!

The night started off with alot of waiting (epic fail on Icon promoters for that!) and but when we did get in, everyone quickly go into the party mode.  It also helped that they were playing good music for most of the night!  As soon as my feet and the rest of me defrosted, I was all up for a party!

It was a great night, having my bf, brother and cuz and the rest of the our friends to party with us!  There is nothing more fun that partying the night away with loved ones =)

Shopping like a postman...good times.

I felt like postman today...I went shopping with my cousin on Robson tonight intending to only go window shopping.  It literally changed weather multiple times--rain, hail and even a slushy snow, within the course of the night while we shopped.

Unexpectedly, I bought two shoes at BEBE.  I love them!

Also, today I used my new set of shadow refills from my second MAC Palette!

The hair was abit messy lol.

Tailored Perfection! Zara rocks!

I absolutely LOVE a well tailored article of clothing.  I cannot stress enough how well it can flatter your figure, I kid you not.  I am a sucker for great tailoring and beautiful, great quality fabrics!  This is why I love shopping at Zara....

Studio Blazer - $159.00 CDN.

Well worth the price if the fit is fabulous....and in my fave colour too!!!!

Hump day haulsies! XII haul!

If you want to find some great deals on clothes that are relatively inexpensive and fashionable (even trendy!) then Forever 21 is for you!

I went to the mall today with the parental units, and while my mom and dad went off to venture on their own, i went ahead and proceeded to the new Forever 21 that just opened in Richmond center mall.  I've been waiting for this branch to open since it was announced! lol.  It was still reasonably busy for a newly opened branch, but not so bad that I can walk around and actually cover some ground =)

and now my haul...

a cute pink with black polkadot makeup bag.  It's got two compartments so it's not so hard to look for my stuff! What a deal--$7.80 CDN!!  It's more girly than I'm used to but I just thought it was so cute!
A brown woven belt--okay, so I'm thinking abit ahead.  It's really for spring, but since it's so damn cold and I'm not in the habit of trying to look cute during the colder days, I don't expect to look fashionable within the next few weeks.  ugh.  Great deal again...$12.80 CDN.
I love this necklace but I may end up tweaking it abit.  I love the bib-style to it, great to match a tube top! =) I can't remember but i think it's $9.80 CDN.
Lastly, this grey fedora.  I love hats, and working for a hat company you'd think I'd have more hats and wear them more often; but I have the unfortunate curse of having a small head and therefore finding a fedora that fits snug is a bit of a challenge.  $15.90 CDN. (i think)

Cute eh? I mean the fedora! lol.

I love hauls at Forever 21.  I can usually make my dollar go further when shopping there as opposed to other places I love to frequent during shopping jaunts.  I love to mix and match fashion at different price-points.  I'm not a self-professed brand whore (honestly it's abit of a harsh term!).

Valentine's Weekend recap: birthday weekend and A night in for Vday! =)

beats:: Joe - I wanna know (oldie but goodie, especially for vday!)

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my bcbg shoulder bag! luvs! the convertible shoulder strap works as a shoulder bag and across-the-shoulder bag!

My weekend started early on thursday...it was the weekend of my birthday trip to Oregon and Portland.  We lucked out that it was good weather (for february anyways lol) during majority of our trip.  I had a blast being with my fave people and had a great time shopping and spending time with my bf and cuz! loves!

We were gone from thursday til' sunday so we sorta spent Valentine's Day in Burlington at Carino's.  Great Italian food!

On monday, my bf and I spent a quiet night in unwinding and catching up on PVR'd shows =) No big gestures, no pretenses, just lovely company with a loved one and yummy food from pizza hut! It was awesome =)

I hope that everyone had as great a Valentine's weekend as I did! =) You don't have to buy into the commercialism and the 'Hallmarkism' of the day, just give someone a hug or kiss, throw a lil bit of love their way to make them feel wanted! =)

Hugs and kisses! =)

Herve Leger Spring 2011 preview

If you love the bandage style dresses revolutionized by Herve Leger under his former fashion house, then you'll love what Max Azria has done to kick it up a notch!

I am forever a fan of BCBG-- simply love!!! Max Azria is a fashion genius! lol.

I recently viewed the collection for his Herve Leger Spring 2011 collection...

Hilary Rubber printed lace dress - $3,500 USD

Francine Mesh and Bandage Dress - $3,500 USD
The Francine Mesh and bandage dress from the Herve Leger spring line was worn most recently by Kerri Washington at a red carpet event...Simply beautiful how it hugs ever curve!

Check out the spring collection...You may find something worth splurging on!

saturday fun: going away party and sausage fest at Pemby!

Last saturday, we met up with my bf's old highschool friend to bid adieu as she sets on her year-long adventure to Korea.  It was a great dinner I must say, even though I'm not so accustomed to big groups anymore.  It was great to see some familiar faces and catch up even if it's just for a minute or two.

Then after dinner, we went to the Pemby to catch the last few minutes of the UFC fight with my bf's co-workers and their friends.  It wasn't too bad to be the only girl in a sausage fest lol.  It was a fun night overall.

Mondays are not so fun days...

beats:: nothing...i'm at work =(

OOTD:: Leggings and a sweater lol I am sooo not work fashionable!

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my over-the-knee boots!

Mondays are not so fun since it's the start of the work week but because I will be taking my vacation on thursday, it doesn't seem so bad!  This week is the my annual birthday weekend trip! Usually it would be in Vegas, but since this year I opted to go during a warmer month, I decided on a shopping weekend instead.

I am sooo looking forward to it!

Anyways, I was taking my lunch break and decided to snap a quick pic of myself! lol (i know, conceited haha)
My monday outfit, complete with my usual accessory, the scarf! lol...

Birthday month continues....

I am very excited that it's three days away...my birthday trip to Portland! =)

There are so many things to do both related to and not so related to my birthday trip, I can hardly keep 'em straight!  There are many errands left to run, and not quite sure that there's enough time to do them.

In honor of my birthday month, I splurged abit (well actually not alot - it was quite inexpensive actually) for a pair of boots that I've wanted for almost half a year now.  Actually I really wanted a pair from BEBE or Marciano, but one can't be too picky when on a strict budget..besides, trends come and go so spending hundreds of dollars on a whim isn't my kind of idea.

My second prezzy:

I've wanted fur-lined boots for the longest time.  A great addition to my boots collection! loves it!

Marciano has me thinking spring!

I am inlove with this shade of green! It reminds me of spring time, which I hope will be soon!

Beata Kimono Dress
I am inlove and wanting this! lol.

Make Peace, not war.

I've been avoiding the news lately, as bad as that sounds, because I didn't want to see the situation developing in Cairo, Egypt.  I hear something here and there, and what little I've heard already started to sicken me so I refused to read the news about more.

Even though I try to avoid it, one thing that pulled me back was the outrageous actions against the journalists.  It's understood that they take great risks every time they report out of any dangerous situation to bring back the news to the masses.  They have always remained neutral, only reporting what they see unfolding.  I found it an outrage that within the last few days, the violence has been so rampant that even the journalists themselves have been caught in the violence, even being so far as to have been harassed or injured.

For any tourists, citizens and journalists that have had to endure what unfolded in Egypt--it is just horrendous and heartbreaking.  I realize that sometimes change is just not possible without some protest and violence but it's hard to see that some bring about change at the risk of others.

It makes me proud to live in a nation that considers democracy and the voice of the people important.  We sometimes take for granted all that we have where we live, being in Canada and having all the freedoms and liberties that we forget we have that others only strive to hope for.

I hope that the violence and unrest ends soon...Every nation deserves to have peace and stability...

February: start of my birthday month! yay!

It's february...you know what that means...birthday month!

I bought myself an early birthday prezzy before my birthday trip! I love my birthday month!  It may be cold and snowy but it's fun time for me.

I bought a pair of shoes from Guess! loves it!
