an oldie but goodie.

If you have read my previous posts you'd know that I'm uber obsessed with losing out on the BEBE kardashians romper that had sold out before I even blinked an eye.  The demand for that romper was just cray.  I went to the store the day after I saw it online and they only had a medium and large all over Canada! (yep, not just in my local area, but all over Canada!) Imagine my disappointment when I walked away empty handed.

Imagine my surprise years later when they released a similar version!
Ok fine, it's not going to be exactly the same as the one I really wanted, but beggars can't be choosers.  I love it just as much and.....I want it! lol.  It'll be a perfect addition to my spring/summer wardrobe.

Everyone, outta my way, this one's mine! lol.

VFW weekend fun!

I had a chance to go to a couple of shows for Vancouver Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012.  It was exciting to see all of the well-to-do people coming together in one place for a fashionable purpose--viewing of a new collection! This year we went to Teresa Rosati and Farida Lalji.  Two great designers with an eye for breath-taking designs that just blew me away!

This is the outfit I wore to the fashion shows..I will post the fashion show pics soon! On what I wore, read on...

Outfit inspiration: sunday brunch!

Happy....monday!?

I decided to do another outfit pull for you...I decided to call this, Sunday Brunch! Yesterday was a beautiful sunday which my cousin and I spent walking around Robson.  I found this dress at Aritzia, which I was surprised was under $100! I hardly find any dresses there for under that price! lol.  It's from Talula and it's a great summer dress that can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion!

Outfit Inspiration: Date Night!

Happy Friday all! What a lovely day today, thought not as warm.  I thought I'd post an outfit that would be an ideal spring/summer date night outfit!

It's so feminine and cute, it's hard not to have your guy fall for you in this!

Celebrity Inspired: Kim Kardashian in turqouise

I saw a post earlier today of Kim Kardashian in turquoise jeans.  I absolutely loved the look, so fresh and spring like!  The turquoise just jumped out with the rest of her outfit staying neutral ivory.

Want to find out how to get the look for less?

Spring/Summer Wishlist: from the beach to the bbq!

I've always loved any outfit that can take you from one place to another--not always from day to night but say, from going to the beach to a family barbeque or errands to coffee with friends.  There's nothing better than an outfit that can transform with a few accessories and seem so appropriate for one place as another!

Here's my first outfit pull for spring/summer...

read on to find out where you can find everything to pull the look too!

St. Patty's Day festivities!

I trust that everyone had a great weekend celebrating St. Patrick's Day with green beer and cheer! lol.

I spent the afternoon walking around downtown with my cousin and window shopping and at night, party'd it up with the gang at Barcelona!

In the true spirit of St Patty's Day, I decided to wear green!

Happy First Day of Spring!

I thought I'd take a moment to wish everyone a wonderful first day of Spring!

The day started off slightly on the gloomy side with some showers early into the morning, but it cleared up around 9am.

I haven't quite decided yet whether my weezing, sneezing and sniffling is really due to the spring hayfever I experience every year, or if it's a cold that's just slightly underdeveloped.  In any case, I welcome spring with open arms and a wish that my allergies would subside already! lol.

I will be posting a new spring/summer wishlist! stay tuned!

Celebrity Inspired: Eva Longoria

Okay in fairness, I put this together before seeing the picture of Eva Longoria.  When running errands, I love to wear comfy clothing --especially if it means having to go to different places to get them done.

I changed it a bit by wearing a loose henley instead of a button down.  I love this top cause it's super comfy!  I love it so much that I bought it in black as well!

Spring 2012 Trend: Modern Romance

style.mtv.com
While Fashion week here is only a week away, I decided to return to fashion week's past to revisit the drool worthy atelier for the spring/summer 2012 season.  Since fashion is always a season (or two) ahead, I had to time-warp back to last year's show lol.

I recently saw the dress on the far left on the instyle website and thought it absolutely gorgeous! Not to say that going sheer wouldn't cause heads to turn *pause for effect* it certainly makes it romantic.

I love that we are going back to the more romantic times, being girly isn't so bad anymore!

Bag of the Day!

To expand on my shoe of the day (which I was planning on doing every friday, but I got lazy lol) I decided to feature bags that catch my eye--not because they're celebrity worthy, but for their style and function.

Today's bag of the day....

Salvatore Ferragamo Frame Bag from the Resort 2011 collection.

Eva Longoria was spotted with it everywhere...The nice size allows to handle it like a carryall bag, but it's stylish enough to use for date night as well!

Jumpsuits & Rompers: not just child's play

Ever since the epic fail of my missing out twice on the romper from Kardashians for BEBE romper, I've been obsessing about trying to find a close alternative.  Don't get me wrong, I've got multiple rompers ranging from beach wear to casual workout wear with a hood and even the dressy halter kind.

I love rompers and jumpsuits.  It eliminates the worry of putting together separates!  It's not just for little kids anymore, the styles and so do the fabrics it comes it!  You can look chic with a jumpsuit for a youthful look--from a sporty french terry to a dressy night-time wear of silk or satin.  Alot of the brands are jumping the bandwagon of having the piece as part of their spring collection.

VFW: Fall/Winter 2012

It's that time of the year again, ladies....

It's when all of Vancouver come together to celebrate all things fashion and fabulousness!  It's a week of designers finally being able to showcase their Fall/Winter 2012 collection!  Held at Masik Studios the previous year, this year's choice of Catwalk venue will be at the Chinese Cultural Centre at 50 East Pender street--the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown.

With over 30 designers showcasing their collections, it's worth the price of admission!

Though not yet fully confirmed, I full intend on making an appearance for at least a couple of the shows.  I love fashion week--getting to see the collections, to who's wearing what and just the general excitement to be around the creativity and beauty.

I hope to see you all there!

Celebrity Inspired: Khloe Kardashian

I recently saw a pic of khloe Kardashian sporting denim on denim using colored jeans.  I thought at first that this was such an out-there, wild kind of look but its actually edgy enough to try!

I didn't go quite as crazy as I didn't want to get glares while attending to some errands at the mall...

Celebrity Inspired: Jessica Alba

I loved the red jeans I got recently! I love the pop of color it gives my outfit!

I think it enhanced a blah casual friday outfit into a quirky, fun jeans friday!  I was rummaging through magazines at Chapters the other day and saw this outfit worn by Jessica Alba (picture from US magazine online)  that gave me an idea! Since I already had the jeans, i thought it'd do a celebrity inspired look!

I love the color combo! color-blocking has always been one of my faves when it comes to outfits.

I usually put red accents when I go monochromatic black and white, but this time, I actually wore one article of clothing in red!

On Trend: colored jeans

It goes without saying, my style has totally gone off the reservation lately! lol. I've ventured off the path of clean and crisp, my normal white and black monochromatic signature look to experiment with the crazier side of the color wheel. I'm totally inlove with the season's trend of colored jeans and the red pair that I recently purchased is no exception!

Ever since I reached my mid 20s, I've opted out of wearing jeans alot.  In fact, I've increased my wear of leggings (which in itself is a faux pas, as they should never be used as a substitute for pants!) or dressier trousers and even just skirts and dresses.  I've grown accustomed to being more dressy just beacause of the nature of my work environment.
AE has an amazing assortment of colored jeans, ranging from these to yellow and pink even!  I chose these colors because I find that they work best with my existing wardrobe already.  Each of these pairs of jeans cost $49.50 (cdn) and certainly won't be breaking the bank!  I love the comfortable fit--not cutting off the circulation in my legs with the super skinnies.  It's just the right amount of tapering and I love the soft feel!

When it comes to trends, I find that it's best to spend less on an article of clothing and invest more in classics that can transcend one season.  Afterall, you don't want to be stuck with a very expensive trendy item that won't be as trendy the next year!

What trends did you get into?

Go Canucks!

There are times when fashion takes a back seat, even for the heck of it....These are one of those moments.

There is nothing more fun than cheering on the Canucks with my bf, especially when the seats are good!

I hope everyone is having a great end to the work week...

Happy Friday!

Shoe of the Day!

As with everyone, I am looking forward to Spring--pastels and Easter weekend.

I can't wait for the rain to just dissepate already, having seen some sunshine the last couple of days as a teaser for what's to come.

I thought that with spring in mind, the shoe of the day should reflect my feeling of today.  Don't be fooled, it's ugly outside today especially for a friday!  I am just comforted by the fact that the sunny season is just around the corner.

I love that pastels are in this S/S 2012 season.  The laser cut-out with the peek-a-boo contrasting color is just too cute!  I personally love laser cut-out shoes having my own purchased from BEBE several seasons back.  It mimics the basket weave but allows for more patterns in an intricate manner that only a laser-cut can do.

I thought because I was talking about spring/summer shoe wear that I'd also post an honorable mention...

Celebrity Style: casual best

I am currently obsessed with Megan Fox....okay, really I've somewhat always been.  She exudes sexy without trying and has such a naturally flawless beauty.  I admire that.  I've seen her Armani Ads, seen her on the red carpet all dressed up, but I find that I love her style as much when she's spotted by the papparazzi doing errands as much as when she's all glammed up for events!

On Trend: Top Gun cool

"I feel the need...for speed..."

Channeling my inner Tom Cruise a la Top Gun today while running errands at the mall.

I love my crop camo bomber jacket.  I got it years ago from my bf as a birthday present.

to find out what I was wearing...

On Trend: The Gladiator

Okay, so I'm not talking about some Russell Crow movie, nor will I be fighting in a Roman Coliseum somewhere lol.  I am talking about the trend that sweeped the fashion runways years back, the gladiator sandals.  It's not just any ol' gladiator style sandals, the knee-high Gladiator style sandals became a craze, showing up at Chanel '07 runway.

I am inlove with the gladiator sandals.  It is so ruggedly trendy.  It's an interesting take on the usual boring sandals, opting for a knee-length instead of stopping at the ankles.

It's a show-stopping pièce de résistance to an summer outfit.  It entices much like a sheer stocking or fishnet tights, you see bits of skin but it's caged as part of a sandal.

I was elated to find that Michael Kors brought the trend back with his version of the sandal..

I love love love it! I don't mind if it's not so much in trend right now lol.

Vancouver Fashion Week: Fall/Winter 2012

There are certain events that women around town go giddy over twice a year....Vancouver Fashion Week!  It's a week that is jam packed full of shows with designers both indie and more well known giving us a taste of what's to come, and culminating in a grand celebration!

I had my first taste of a show last year and my fashion cherry, as they say, has been popped.  I am hooked--excited even, for this month's upcoming show.  I was fortunate enough to be able to check out the Lauren Elaine Swim Wear last november, and I was in awe of her amazing talent for designing fashionable yet wearable swim wear.  It was devine, from swim wear to coverups and casual beach wear in between....

Let's not forget the fact that even those that attend the show get to strut their fashion stuff, even if they don't get to walk the runway.  I am beyond words kind of excited to say the least (can't you tell? i've used the word several times already! lol) of the shows, what to wear and such....

If you're a fashion fanatic like me, you won't be missing the event!
