Heat Insulated styling Iron Bag

I thought that I did pretty good at the mall today...

I was there to just get errands done but after I had brought my drycleaning to the Cleaners and had stopped by Sephora to check out certain items that I was considering buying, I thought I'd stop by Shoppers to buy the last of my 'essentials*'.

I was just there to buy my eye make-up remover while multi-tasking (translation: rounding the store whilst talking on the phone with the bf) I happened upon those heat resistant pouches for the hot iron styling tools so that you won't have to wait until they cool down when you're on the go and need to pack after using.  I recently went on a trip and had thought it would have been cool to find one for cheap before going for my weekend trip to Seattle--but no such luck!  I thought it was lucky by chance that I did happen to not only find it, but on sale nonetheless! Hurray for me!

read on to find out!

Edit: Clarisonic

gaah...rainy days are fun only when there is no work to be done! lol.  On that note, my work day is almost over, and what do I do to celebrate!? blog! haha.

Thank you Clarisonic for responding to my blog entry.

To all you folks out there that somehow make it to my page, I didn't mean to make that entry sound to be one-sided on the skeptical side.  I am genuinely eager to try the product, Clarisonic Skin Care System, and as such posed a question on its ability (as with any product that may claim to do stuff ie: shamwow lol) to perform--which is what any smart buyer would do when considering a new product.

Don't get me wrong, I am not against this from the start, and will give it my un-biased opinion when I eventually buy it!

I am very excited to try it once I get to buy it! =)

The Sonic Treatment. Yay or Nay?

There are days that I must admit, sleep is more of a luxury than a necessity.  My schedule goes into over-drive, and thus, so does my anxiety and hormones.  There are days when my hormones are so out of whack that I break out in an instant the moment anything--and I mean anything touches my face.

Houston err--i mean Vancouer, we have a problem...

My skin has improved tremendously since my adolescent years--thank god! and I am determined to keep it that way! I am adamant that my skin care routine not only keep my face clear but also be a preventative measure against any blemishes or imperfections.  I am also determined however, to keep my skin care routine simple as I am not a girl that likes to fuss about these things.  One thing I hate to do is buy endless amount of creams and serums for hundreds of dollars and take most of the night to get my face ready for bed!

I've been recently hearing about the Clarisonic Facial skin care system.  It's the same company that made the sonic care toothbrush.  There are so many products and tools out in the market that claim to do wonderous things for your skin and improve it for small price...

Orgasm in Multiples

beats:: Enrique Iglesias ft Pitbull - I like it

That song is so hyped up that it's hard not to wanna move to it! lol.  Anyways, its stuck in my head on repeat right now.

err-the title isn't what you're thinking..lol.

Alot of my friends are always on the go, but don't want to compromise busy schedules with looking their best--I must admit I share that feeling.  I've been trying to cut corners without cutting the bottom line of trying to look my best for work in the morning, and I must say, it isn't always easy.  I always run into certain roadblocks of wanting to spend time on my outfit which sometimes, leaves less for my makeup.

Here is where Nars comes in.

Ever since my intro to this brand through my fave blush, i've been exploring other products that I may want to try...I know that much like MAC, their makeup is high impact, rich colours that can rival Napoleon Perdis as well! I know my interest has peaked after using my fave Nars blush in Orgasmn.

Now introducing..Nars Multple in Orgasm!

From the creator Francois Nars..the famed multi use for the eyes, cheeks and lips..It's been out for awhile now, so it's not really new.  In fact alot of makeup brands are coming out with the same concept of being able to use one product for all three parts of your face.  This saves a heck of alot of time for beautification purposes, but make no mistake--it's no replacement for the special treatment if you are going somewhere special!  When the occasion calls for it, there is no substitute for using multiple products like eye shadows, lipgloss and blush etc.

For all of us busy gals on the go...

Why sacrifice your time to get all primped and proper?  Girls can have it all...

Pet Peeve: summer lazy dressing.

beats:: fancy footwork - chromeo

OOTD:: Zara White Boyfriend one-button Blazer, Forever 21 White henny shirt with ruffles in the front, Garage Black leggings & Payless snakeskin flats.

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: white Zara Boyfriend Blazer--I LOVE white.

I was going to write this long, meaningful entry about a pet peeve of mine...Then I thought instead of dragging it on, I should explain it short and sweet.

I find that whenever summer rolls around, the hygiene factor fades slightly and people find it as an excuse to dress like they were at home even when they are out and about.  It annoys me intensely.  Okay, so it's summer and any kind of semi-formal attire semi-goes out the window..lol..

..you want to wear flipflops--fine.
..you want to wear a shirt and shorts instead of slacks and a dress shirt--fine.
..you want to wear a summer dress--fine.

Please just keep in mind that there are certain faux-pas that never go out of season...

Some examples would be; Strategically placed holes in shirts and sweaters--I have no idea why it's in fashion, but I draw the line at torn and distressed jeans (which I don't have btw).  Old, ratty and used-up shirts on guys just like mis-coloured tanktops on girls--just not the business...lol.

Keep in mind, summer means you get to use the pretty summer dresses and the short sleeve polo shirts and not have to layer on multiple pieces, but it doesn't mean dressing carelessly...

Oh..and keep in mind..HYGIENE!! In this season that sweating is like breathing and smelling like you've been outside in the sun is more common than not, it is important to keep in mind anything that helps to make you feel fresh and smell fresh!

Food for thought #2: Heidi Montag and 'The price of Beauty'.

I recently saw another pic of the buxom, mostly altered Heidi Montag on one of MTV's updates on my facebook...

When she first revealed the results of 10 surgeries within a short time-frame, it certainly freaked the heck out of me that she even considered that many procedures let alone actually going through with them.  She barely looks like the same person she once was...I personally think she looked way better before the alterations.

What would make someone do cosmetic alterations at such a young age?

Fashion inspiration #2

I thought I'd talk about my second fashion (and overall inspiration for life) inspiration--Kim Kardashian.

I love the Kardashian sisters not for their fame, but their ability to be true to themselves and take being in the public eye in stride no matter if it's negative or positive publicity.

I think that Kim Kardashian is an inspiration to all girls.  I admit, I was less than impressed with the leaked alleged sex tape incident but at the same time I get that no one is perfect.  People make mistakes and it's all in how you rise back up in the face of it and move on.  She has certainly made her way through the world just fine and gotten past it well enough...

at the risk of over-blogging the same topic lol...

I couldn't resist...

At the risk of repeating myself, I took a pic of my fave dress of the moment...I just adore it to pieces at the moment..

I am uber happy and satisfied with my dress!!! =) *smiles*

I love the Elizabeth and James Luna dress although I am not quick to want to commit to the price tag.  The next best thing to be is to find inspiration in the Luna dress and find the same characteristics that I love without buying the exact same dress...though come to think of it, the dress does look eeriely similar lol.

Lovin't it: Being in the nude

Okay, so it's not exactly what it sounds like..

When I say nude, I actually meant my lips lol.  I love the barely there colour of the peachy pink tones for lipgloss or lipstick matched with a smokey eye...It gives off such a dramatic effect...

I've been using Neutrogena Moisture Shine Gloss in Whisper for awhile now, almost two years I think, but since it's been discontinued i've changed to Mac.  Nowadays, I've been using the Mac Lip Glass (though I've forgotten the name of the shade--apologies).  It's a fairly similar tone, without the bit of sparkles that I get from the Neutrogena lipgloss.  Though I prefer it that way really.

For a bit of tone--my fave blush is Nars in Orgasm.  It's a brighter pink blush with flecks of gold that make your cheeks shimmer.  When swiped on, it gives this lovely light shad of pink that's not too much and not too light...luvs it.

Though the bright red lips are so in for the moment, I'm somewhat hesitant to follow the trend considering it seems to look just abit off on me...maybe in the care of professionals I may try it sometime =)

Dries Van Noten in the spotlight: Julia Roberts in Tokyo

I fell inlove with Dries Van Noten's Fall 2010 collection previewing it at style.com recently...It seems that I'm not the only one!  Spotted! Julia Roberts in one of his fall pieces, a Floral Sheath in 3/4 sleeve...Breath-takingly gorgeous! LUV

One of the floral sheaths from his ready to wear Fall 2010 collection--similar to the one Julia Roberts wore at a Tokyo press conference for her new movie, Eat, Pray, Love.

I love the femininity of the floral dresses--it's simple in that there are no extra frills but the bright, bold colours gives it that extra pop.

A Hayden Inspiration

I've been into the tunic dresses lately, the shorter tunic but long sleeves.  It's a great way to accentuate a different part of your body--the legs!

It's not always about the decouletage all the time, ladies!

Sweater dresses and tunics are my fave no frill and fuss type dress to wear, especially when the occasion calls for something not so showy.  It's somewhat a cross inspiration between Hayden Panettiere's dress and Kim Kardashian's recent entry about tunics with flared sleeves...

My inpsiration for my Marciano Edaline dress, which I got courtesy of my bf by the way (thanks hun!)..Hayden Panettiere rocked this dress like a pro fashionista....It hit all the right notes--and inspired someone like me, a fashion hopeful to try a different style.

LOVEEEE!!!~*

This is Elizabeth & James Luna dress/tunic.  I absolutely fell inlove with the colour--but seeing as how this was unavailable here and abit higher in price than my pay grade, i don't mind finding something that is inspired of this dress...

Food for thought #1: skin care up in smoke

I think that when it comes to skin care, there are many women (even men) that are more finicky and consistent with their regimen than I am.  I admit, while clean and healthy skin is a priority of mine, I don't always rush to the closest drugstore or aesthetician for the latest cosmetic fix or facial treatment.

I know that having healthy and youthful skin is important, but in my mind, ageing gracefully without any articifical enhancements and surgeries is also important.  That, and I usually get lazy lol.

I don't spend thousands of dollars on serums and creams, but I do realize and keep in mind the importance of taking care of my skin and doing preventative maintenance.  I do the regular care of cleaning my skin of impurities and making sure that I sleep soundly without any trace of makeup left in my skin.

I should say that I'm not without days where I'd pass out after a late night of clubbing and had forgotten to wash my face!

Trust me, lol It's not a pretty sight to wake up in the morning and find your pillow case looking like the shroud of turin and find an ugly, hot mess when you look yourself in the mirror haha.  Racoon eyes are not pretty!  Most nights, I do try to keep myself as regular with my facial regimen as I do about my morning multi-grain breakfast! =)

Caution: straight and narrow ends here..curves ahead!

beats:: hooked on T.I ft Keri Hilson - Got your back

err--curves by way of body type lol.

I usually read US magazines for fashion and makeup inspiration and such, so it was a welcoming change to browse through Flare Magazine for once!

There's really hardly any change from the US format (much like British and US not differing all that much), just that because it's a local mag, they focus somewhat on some of the up and coming Fashion hopefuls--
which is good.

Apparently for Fall 2010, curvy is in again

The bridesmaid dress: re-use and recycle or a museum piece?

I was thinking of 27 dresses with Katherine Heigl and the yummy James Marsden as I flipped through some wedding pictures posted on facebook.  Afterall, it is weddding season, and lots of weddings are if not on their way, then have already gone on recently.

With the details of flowers, a beautifully decorated hall and a stunningly (and equally) beautiful bride and groom are the entourage attire.  The groomsmen are easy--err i mean that they are usually in matching suits with only their vests or ties/bowties matching.  Usually white shirts and Black tuxes/suits are the norm so no surprises there.  The bridesmaids and maid of honor however, can prove to be difficult when trying to make it a beautiful and yet re-useable dress.

Is that possible?  A bridesmaid dress that can be re-used and recycled?!?

The last hurrah of summer =)

beats:: fancy footwork - chromeo.

Okay, so as fast as I've found a summer song in katy perry with California Girls the faster I've replaced it with a faster beat song from Chromeo for my summer listening pleasure.  I just can't get enough of it that it's admittedly on repeat on my ipod...

Speaking of summer, it's now onto the second week of August and I'm just about ready to throw in my beach days--which I must admit, have been few and far between this year despite the increased number of sunny, dry days, and replace it with fall wardrobe.  Bring on the cooler weather! lol I kind of miss my comforter =) so cozy.

The fall clothes seem to just be coming out in spades, and I am getting so excited.

I recently perused my fave clothing store, Marciano, for some ideas and found alot of things I would like to add on my wishlist! lol.  The first style is something that I'm seriously considering buying...especially since I just received my private invitation to save card from Marciano recently! =) I was wondering when that was going to come lol.

The Edaline Dress - $178.00 (CDN)

Okay so this little tunic number has been my mild obsession ever since I saw a pink version on Hayden Pannetiere.  I fell inlove with the style of the dress, so easy and comfortable looking--no fuss and certainly no extra details that fall or hang.  It's a serious must-buy for me!

Here are others that made the wishlist! (hint! hint! early bday prez maybe?!? lol)

Preparing for the summer to fall transition!

Fall is hands-down my fave season of the year.

I love everything about fall, from the foliage in shades of orange, to the cooler weather and just the fall harvest decos that seem to appear on doorsteps and as centerpieces for thanksgiving!

The change of weather and foliage always signals the start of something new, like a fresh start of sorts.

With that fresh start comes my quest for new fall add-ons to my usual fall staples.  Sure I have my classic mainstays for fall, like my fave cozy, comfy sweaters, sweater dresses and blazers etc.  There are a few pieces I do try to add on to my wardrobe to update my style and give it abit of a facelift for the new season.

'New' is the word! lol.

And of course, with that being said, I also have my must-haves for the season which you could say become my go-to pieces for comfort and style.  These are my absolute fail-safe items which are like my fave foundation or lipgloss, ones I can't live without.

For the special person in my life...

I love to shop in general..

I also love to shop for presents...and I love finding something they will love even more!

The greatest kind of gratitude for me is knowing that what I get someone for their birthday, christmas or any special occasion will be something that will bring a smile to their face and warmth in their heart.

I don't gift for the sake of gifting, and I certainly don't wholesale gift.
