Ever heard of the suicide roll? err-- no it's not from a japanese menu nor is it some kind of death-defying act. It's a hairstyle from what i gather from the 50s (can't quite verify at the moment) and it's cute in my opinion. Along with the band Karmin's awesome sound came one of the band members --Amy Heideman.
Would you dare try a suicide roll?

Parting ways: it matters!
I had more time than I knew what to do with one time, and decided to do a hairstyle I hadn't done since i was a kid. Now, I've done curls before--that wasn't what I hadn't done in years. What changed was the where I had my hair parted--in the middle! I have long since started parting my hair to the side, and with the my hairdresser also in agreement, I have gotten used to a side part.
This time however, I decided to see what it would look like to change it up...
What do you think of the center part?

Tease me why don'tcha!
I had a bit of time the other day before heading to the mall so I decided to divert from the norm and fix my hair...
I normally have it down and parted the same (boring) way lol but decided to pouff it up at the front and tease all the way around for effect!

Pasta Tuesdays and the ponytail!
It's tuesday night..where else to go but Boston Pizza for Pasta Tuesdays! lol. It's a good time to load up on carbs lol.
While I usually wear my hair down if not always, but I rushed to get ready for work this morning and thought it best to keep it up from then.
I've been wearing my hair up more and more, usually the ponytail, and sometimes for a twist, i'll braid the top middle part...its cute and practical! lol.

Elnett hairspray. Yay or Nay?
I recently bought the L'oreal Elnett Hairspray and thought I'd try it since I've been hearing rave reviews about the fact that its almost comparable to the salon hairsprays.
I curled my hair, volumized it using the hairspray and the finished product....

Hair of the Day: the chignon
Kim Kardashian at the 2011 People's choice Awards. I absolutely love this hairstyle!
It's the pouffed up chignon with the part in the front...very elegant! I believe that it's common for weddings.
The bridal version, not so high at the top, still beautiful.
Little tidbit I never new before today: They sell chignon pillows to fluff up the round bun! OMGeee! I always wondered how some women get their bun so fluffed!

curls galore!
My hair's grown to a decent length and now I'm able to curl my hair once again! yay! I'm still using my Corioliss, ever a loyal fan of using a straightening iron for both curling and straightening.

buns!
Last week I was feeling pretty tired most of the work week still recovering from a cold and a stubborn cough...Finally giving in to my lethargic feeling, I recently put my hair up out of necessity and lack of time to get ready in the morning. I would love to say that I was trying out a new hairstyle, but it was really because I woke up fairly late and didn't have the time to wash my hair. Bad excuse, but I guess it did give me time to fix my hair differently.
Safe to say that even though it happened out of a lack of time, it ended up being ok afterall. I liked it and when able to, may try it again! Sometimes things work out for the best!

Spin Pin...Yay or Nay?
Have you see ever seen the commercial for this?
I have been seeing the commercials for this new 'invention' from Goody that apparently takes the place of at least several pins into one! I was intrigued by this as I had just picked up a set of 20 black pins to do an up'do--maybe a side chignon or just the normal bun in the back. To do this, I would need countless number of pins just to hold the bun in place. This brings me back to a childhood nightmare of having a helmet-head full of hairspray and countless number of pins for a school concert. This is the reason that I barely fixed my hair up into any type of hairstyle other than just letting it flow.
As I got older I started to get more adventurous and try new hairstyles once again.
So here I am, trying new tools to help with my quest for the perfect hairstyle for the Christmas party! This seemed fullproof from the commercials so I thought, what could it hurt. It certainly was not cheap! Depending on where you buy it, it could range from $5-$7 for two pins. I saw this at London Drugs for $6.99 but I ended up buying mine from Save-on foods which sells it for a special price of $5.99 and $1.00 off! I would say, shop around as this would be available in most places that sell Goody hair products.
It basically looks like this:
Two thin metal rods twisted in a coil to form one pin.
What you do is basically just still the two ends into your bun, and start twisting in the direction going in. It's like twisting the cap to tighten--same idea. I used two on a simple bun and it seemed to hold fairly well, even with my slippery hair. Mind you, even with it replacing several pins, you would still need to use more than two for a firm hold.
I'm pretty happy with my purchase, and I hope that it works out for the hairstyle I do!

Holiday Hair Dilemma: other hairstyles I've tried!
Like I've said before, I am very happy that my hair has once again grown back. I have no idea what I was thinking cutting my hair short as I did! I guess I do have an adventurous side every once in awhile! Anyways, like I've also mentioned, I've been trying to figure out what to do with my hair for the Christmas Party.
If I put my hair down....
If I put my hair in a ponytail...
hmm...which style to choose!?

Holiday Hair dilemma: up or down!?
Now that my hair has grown once more, I am wracking my brain as to what to do with it during the holiday festivities that I will be attending.
The more predictable side of me usually keeps my hair down and straight. Unadventurous but it's a sure thing, I know that I won't be making hairstyle suicide. Of course because my hair has grown long, I also know that I can be more adventurous with what I do with it, and thus I am more willing to do so. I have experimented with updo's that i thought may work with the events I am attending.
Here is one...
The side bun has recently been something that I've been leaning towards. Its cute and if done right, is an elegant updo. I bought this rose from Claire's which I thought was a cute addition to my updo.
I thought the white and fur kinda gives it that cute winter white feel to my outift. I can't wait to put it all together and see the final outcome!

Heat Insulated styling Iron Bag
I thought that I did pretty good at the mall today...
I was there to just get errands done but after I had brought my drycleaning to the Cleaners and had stopped by Sephora to check out certain items that I was considering buying, I thought I'd stop by Shoppers to buy the last of my 'essentials*'.
I was just there to buy my eye make-up remover while multi-tasking (translation: rounding the store whilst talking on the phone with the bf) I happened upon those heat resistant pouches for the hot iron styling tools so that you won't have to wait until they cool down when you're on the go and need to pack after using. I recently went on a trip and had thought it would have been cool to find one for cheap before going for my weekend trip to Seattle--but no such luck! I thought it was lucky by chance that I did happen to not only find it, but on sale nonetheless! Hurray for me!
read on to find out!

LC: hairstyle icon!
Move over, Jen Aniston! You've been replaced! lol. A new hairstyle trend-setter and a Jennifer Aniston of the new decade has arrived in the form of...
Lauren Conrad!
I am a closet Laguna Beach fan *blushes in shame* and more importantly, I've always been on Team Kristin. I loved the chemistry between her and Stephen Colleti. I have to admit tho, LC also had her own charms about her. It wasn't until she started in the spin-off 'The Hills' that she won me over with her sweetnes, loyalty and virtue.
Nowadays, I am also Team LC--admiring her head for business, strong work ethic and ability to keep climbing to the top amidst her reality star status and mindless gossip. I think she's the Queen B--of the Celebrity business world. I feel like I'm abit ashamed to admit that I want to buy her book LA Candy lol.
Wearing many crowns, not only is she a fashion designer, a writer and reality star, I can say that she's also my hairstyle icon. I love how no matter what drama unfolds in her former show, she always looked stunning in her casual OC style waves or her braids. She has what I'd love, looking great and yet simple and not over-the-top at the same time!
My top 3 styles to covet from the lovely reality star darling:

I've been experimenting with the tousled, messy but tamed look lol...It's hard cause you have to style the hair in a way that looks abit unstyled but yet tamed enough that you don't look like a lindsay lohan hot mess! I love how LC's hair is just tousled enough to not look uptight but yet still tamed enough to not look like she just got out of bed lol. Puurr-fecto!
