camouflage fashion.

beats::

OOTD::

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment::

Camo green whether in a bomber jacket or pants have always been part of my staple casual wear.  I've rocked the camo pants cropped and full pants, with runners, or heels.  They are great for travel, alternative casual wear to jeans (when you get tired of jeans...imagine that!) and it's such a cute fashion statement for the club with a great pair of skyhigh heels! loves it.

What came out this season is a new version of the camo...The Skinny Camo pant.

Artizia came out with the skinny cargo pants in green and it took off like hotcakes! (I read in a mag that it was even backordered due to selling out so fast!!!)  Now BEBE has it's own version in Khaki and Light Olive.

In the last few seasons that the stovepipe and skinny type pants and jeans, it was just a matter of time that even cargo pants got into the action and came out with it's own cute version of the skinny.  It's a great summertime wear, kind of like the cropped skinny jeans in a variety of colours offered at AE.

I've got my eye on the pair from BEBE since i'm not really all that sure if the Aritzia pair is even available here...but for $113(CDN) or $91 USD, it's quite a bargain.

If I were you though, I wouldn't throw the old baggy cargo pants out for a garage sale yet, those babies are still quite the fashion...and if nothing else, they are great for travel!!!! =)

What do you think of the skinny cargoes?

Royal Blue is the new red.

beats:: maniac-girlicious (it's stuck in my head on repeat!!!)

OOTD:: White Marciano logo tee & black leggings

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my phone.

I recently went on abit of a shopping spree at BEBE thanks to their crazy promo....It's just too hard to pass up!! =)

Recently, (and til now) they have a sale going on that if you buy $125 you get $20 off and if you buy upto $250 or more, you get $50 off.  I never went as crazy as buying upto $250 (altho if you add up all the items I bought eventually it did reach $250) but it was damned close!

I bought a gorgeous electric blue bandage halter dress!

I love the colour, it just pops so well! I feel like this shade of blue is like the new red for the season...It's a cooler but just as intense of a colour that pops as well as red.  I love the shade, its just sooo gorgeous! It fits the body like a glove...So continues my love affair with the body con dresses.  I am so grateful that the trend has been revived just because it's just so flattering...

I think it's empowering to feel as good on the outside as one would feel within.  The bodycon dress, mastered by Herve Leger and even explored by Azzedin Alia, has been a iconic trend that has been revived by the love and celebration of curves...The fact that one does not have to show skin to be sexy, and that just by wearing a dress that hugs every single curve can be just as alluring and the mystery of what's underneath is what is the sexiest about it.

What do you think of the trend?

Club Monaco S/S 2010...LOVE!!!

beats:: I'm not myself tonight-Christina Aguilera

OOTD::

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: umm. earplugs for this song maybe? lol joke.

I happened to wander around Club Monaco recently and fell inlove with their Spring/Summer Collection 2010...Well it's really just the Spring Collection that's out at the moment i think....I've always loved the minimalist clean lines and monochromatic colours that is the signature of the label.  It's like an upscale Gap, along the lines of Banana Republic you could say...Fairly on the pricey side, I've often opted to pass on the styles, but I can't seem to get certain pieces out of my mind this time around for some reason! lol.

A run-down of my faves....

The Catherine Silk Skirt - I am obsessed with the Cream, stone, offwhite etc. colour.  It's the hardest to keep clean and yet I will gravitate to it EVERY time.  I love the draping effect of this skirt, it's so lady-like and relaxed, and yet it's actually shaped to fit as a mini! loves it!

Emoni Cupro Dress -  Okay, the pic does not do this tunic dress justice at all! The moment I saw this dress, I could sooo see my cuz in this..Loves it...It's so spring/summer...The flower shaped sequin in the front of the dress is so beautiful...The looseness of the tunic allows for it to be belted without hiking up.  Can you say, lounging dress? lol.

Carter Sequin Jacket - This is so intricately sequined it's such a beautiful jacket to wear on top as a finishing touch for a night time outfit.  It reminds me somewhat of a chanel tweed shape-wise.  It's like wearing an art piece!

Martine Silk Dress - Love Love Love! If I can remember correctly, this dress is a racerback and sequined.  It sparkles and is a perfect night time dress for lounging or a date....It somehow reminds me of Miami...maybe it's the light hue lol.

Jacie Skirt - Okay seriously, I try to stay away from a crazily done pleated skirt, but this one is just too cute to pass up.  It's one of those pieces of clothing that can take you from day to night with just a few changes in the outfit.  I love that it's long enough to pass for the office and cute enough to keep and change maybe a top and add some bling and maybe into sky-high stilettoes and ur all set to meet the girls for happy hour!!

Okay, so there's one more skirt, a tulip striped brown satin skirt that I couldn't find on the website, anyways, it's another must if you're looking for a day to night kind of skirt...I like double duty outfits that can take you from day to night with just a few changes, cause face it, there are times that we can't go back home to change....Sometimes, there's just enough time to re-touch the makeup, change up some accessories and get going! lol.

Anyways, sometimes taking a second look into an old fave can give new breath of life into an ailing routine in the closet.

(Fashion) Love in the club~*

beats:: nothing...it's commercials lol.

OOTD::

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: umm..my laptop!?

Show and tell time!

lol...This was a pic from a recent 'Girls' night Out' jaunt at Pop Opera Nightclub with Jack.

Jack Daniels that is...and apple juice!

It really is a party when Jack is around! haha..

Anyways...

I'm the one in the center of the pic.  I'm pretty pround of this outfit, very simple (since I couldn't find a top) but I went for my safety outift and just wore a Black sequined mini skirt (which you can't quite tell from this pic) and a white racerback.

luvs it.

To the right is my cuz...Luvs her! She's wearin' a Le Chateau tunic...tres cute! A tunic is a great alternative to a binding dress one may not want to wear to a club or lounge.  It's more form fitting and figure flattering, not to mention it allows you to skip over the time-consuming matching a top to a bottom situation! lol...Luvin' the green hues...so spring-esque! lol..way to bring on the trend cuz..

To my left is our party friend, neesh.  Being the cute urban party chick she is, comfort is number one in her book when she's partying.  Afterall, you have to be comfy bustin a move on the dancefloor!! She kinda of reminds me of a more stylish MIA (umm the rapper just in case you didn't know lol)...Luv the outfit, chic party look! White tank, black vest and shorts, and of course, on a rainy day, tights and in my mind, her ultimate topping on the cake accessory, her super cute high tops!!! =) (gaaw I hope she doesn't kill me for dissecting her outfit! its so cute i couldn't resist! haha)

Personally, I love to get all dolled up for a party...It gives me an excuse to get all pampered up for an event...I feel like cinderella for the night! (or day, depending! lol).  I think every girl no matter how simple or tomboy-ish wants to feel special and dolled up at some point!~*

Seeing double!

beats:: nothing..watching Bones on tv =)

OOTD:: pjs!
fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my pjs...so comfy.

I love shopping at Marciano (which everyone can tell lol) but I also love perusing the racks of BCBG from time to time.  The prices at Marciano being abit more affordable, I often opt for it rather than shelling out a few hundred more for BCBG.  Don't get me wrong, if money wasn't an issue, I'd mos def get an item (or ten!) at BCBG!!

In my opinion, both labels know the true beauty of a woman's curves and how to integrate it into a dress that will make a woman feel sexy without compromising on the chic appeal and style.

Imagine my surprise when I found both labels carried almost the identical looking dress...not only the colours, in the same season's collection but the style of the dress too! right down to the one shoulder strap....Were they channeling the same muse at the time!? I wonder...

Prices aside, which dress would you choose and why??

BCBG...from minis to maxis, and everything else in between!

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment::

Happy Tuesday!

What a lovely day today, and it's only going to get better as the days get closer to summertime!  What a time to behold....All the springtime fashions are full on, and summer collection is out in almost full force!

I was at BCBG over the weekend on Robson, (and more frequently lately) admiring their sexy, trendy springtime fashions.  I mostly eyed the bandage skirts and dresses which I favour nowadays.  love love loves it tons! I've always bought Marciano when it came to the sweater dresses and bandage style dresses, but obviously nothing beats Max Azria (who now owns Herve Leger!).

The prices are up the charts, but you get what you pay for when you come into BCBG!

I've recently checked out their online US website...Here are a few things that have caught my eye recently!

Bandage Mini Skirts...

Sexy aren't they?  Minis galore! My heart flutters....It has as much of the signature second-skin type feel of the orginal Herve Leger Bandage dress without actually showing what's underneath.  I am absolutely inlove with the flattering look of these skirts!  It's all the rage, with the tye-dye effects, the stripes and solid colours....It's positively perfect for spring and summertime fashion, in fact, I'd say it's a must!

The Maxi Dress...

From chevron strips, prints and ombre effects, this season's Maxi dresses are anything but boring! They are max'd out in stylishness that one can't resist to get into the season's trend!  I love that Max Azria has the most whimsical prints and the brightest of colours to give the typical dress a more exciting spin.  It's so lady-like and so chic that even I can't resist! Loves it!

Bags...

The first one is pretty much the price equivalent of the famous Coach hobo that I found awhile back, real leather and all.  Now, I'm torn between the two considering this mustard hue'd bag is just a tad pricier but quite chic!  It's really upto preference.  For night time dates and such, the clutch is the perfect accessory topper to any outfit! I absolutely love white, so one white clutch is a must for me! There is also nothing wrong, however, with creating a dramatic contrast for an outfit with a pop of colour such s a cute red satin clutch! pure LOVE.

That's it for now for BCBG and my mini field trip!

Hope that you have enjoyed checkin out BCBG's spring line as much as I did!~*

enjoy the sunshine!

The 'mini' season...rockin' it and lovin' it!

beats:: Calvin Harris - Ready for the weekend.

OOTD:: Casual Fridays! *woohoo!* Black Sirens Tanktop, Sirens White Jeans & Black Wilfred shawl.

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: Chanel Sunglasses baby!!! let the sunshine in!!!!=)

Lovin' the sunshine on this gorgeous friday...Happy Friday lovelies!~*

It's been so gorgeous the past couple of days that it's hard to believe its only spring...I mean except for the crazy freakish winds once in awhile and the colder breeze during night time lol.  I've been sporting more and more of my spring warm fashions in hopes of encouraging more sunny days!

I've noticed my sudden obsession with mini skirts, having avoided it since my early 20s.  After hitting my mid 20s, I've sort of had this stigma associated with the mini as being abit tacky.  I know, so critical of me! lol.

I could never had been more wrong!

In the last few months, I've collected a cornucopia of minis!  They range (as per my previous entry) from $15-$60.  I've always inter-mixed cheap with the pricier brands to keep my budget in tact.  Afterall, well-rounded shoppers know that a well-known brand isn't always the best route, and some cheap knock-offs aren't the greatest quality.

The lower price point skirts, I found at Costa Blanca & Urban Behaviour.

The Higher price point minis, Like the ones from BEBE and Bedo are more of my 'fashion investments'.  Though don't get me wrong, even at their higher price points, neither skirt are more than $60 CDN!! They may be higher priced, but they don't break the bank!

I think that with certain trends, its important to realize that some do come back in fashion eventually, but others remain in the past, and therefore before spending a crazy amount of money on something that may only be around for a season, think if it will actually transition into a classical piece that can be integrated into a basic wear or with the regular wardrobe you already have.

Do you have a trendy seasonal piece that you consider to be your 'IT' fashion statement for the season?

monk & lou @ Plen+y.

beats:: some emily osment song i can't seem to get out of my head.

outfit of the day:: Black Zara pants, White Garage Racerback tanktop & AE light taupe coloured cardi (and my white Puma runners lol)

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: still....my Chanel sunglasses =) I'm still waiting, sunshine!

6 Weeks into spring, and all I see is gloom...ugh.

I want some sunshine in my life again! scratch that-- I need sunshine in my life again!  Where the heck is it??  I am awaiting the use of my uber fave sunglasses and much awaited spring wardrobe.

Speaking of wardrobe....

I was perusing the store, Plen+y yesterday afternoon and noticed the brand, Monk & Lou.  I rarely go into that store these days, considering how they house more of the pricier boutique labels, sort of like Ariztia.  I think that they are quite similar in that they house different brands, some you can find in other stores, others are abit more unique.  They cater to the fashionistas with a more ecclectic, unique sense of style.  While Aritzia focuses more on just the ladies and more on the trendy side of things, Plen+y mixes men and women, and mixes urban with the trendy.

So on to Monk & Lou....

My initial sighting was thanks to this nice 'Boyfriend' Blazer.  While I'm not accustomed to buying those at a bulk, I do like an occasional blazer now and again.  It's cut quite nicely with what seems like a slight tapered waist even if it mostly has a boxy shape.  Their pieces for the most part were quite nice, tho for the most part pricey.  The cute black mini skirt I had my eye on was stickered at $79.00 while most of my minis tend to be around the $20-$60 range.  All in all, I found this brand to be quite trendy and cute, reminding me of the styles that Aritzia carries, with its Talula Babitton and Wilfred brands.

I'd still consider it, though this was more a quick run-through at the store, so I doubt I remembered every piece from their line.  I'd still be on the lookout in the future what they may have in store for the up-coming seasons....I certainly was intruiged.

shoe must-have! flats

beats:: some annoying miley cyrus song playing on the radio *ugh*

outfit of the day:: Bebe black and white dress, aldo black and white shoes (i'm monocromatic today lol.)

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my Chanel sunglasses! =) (and maybe my umbrella while walking outside back to the office haha)

Lovin' the sunshine...NOT lovin the wind, rain and storms that keep coming around my springtime lovingness.

I just found this on the Aldo website just now (while checking out their sales).

It's such a cute alternative to the simple flats...flats with ankle straps have been around a few seasons, but this one caught my eye.  It's cute, how it kinda looks like an ankle length flat boot but actually its a flat with what kind of resembles ankle supports.

I always get my flats pulled out of my feet at one time or another when walking around (the curse of a klutz! lol) but these looked functional enough and cute at the same time.  It kills two birds with one stone! =)

Choen $55.00 on sale for $39.98!! crazy eh!?
It's available in black and beige.
Isn't it cute!? I think it's on my list of 'To-Buy' items for spring and summer!

Pure instant attraction! <3

What's your spring shoe must-have???

think neutral.

beats:: jessica simpson - a public affair

outfit of the day:: same as below! =)

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: same as below! =)

I'm inlove with neutrals, aren't you?! lol.

Loves it...so fresh looking, so spring, so now!~*

In case you weren't able to spend your hard earned cash into the pricier labels, (not all of us can afford BCBG or BEBE even Marciano!) Forever 21 offers a wide selection of pretty in pink neutrals that will complete your wardrobe essentials for spring and summer!

For the most part, neutrals are a great way to brighten up a dark, chilly wardrobe of winter.  It's like someone cracked a window open and all the sunlight has come in, a ray of light (a la madonna lol).

If you notice that I always recommend alot of clothes from Forever 21, it's affordable and good quality for the price you pay.  If labels aren't your thing but you'd still like to look nice, this store is for you.  Of course there are other stores such as Sirens, and Urban Behavior even Costa Blanca, but quality-wise, they don't beat Forever 21.

So here are some of my fave Forever 21 neutral picks for spring/summer 2010:

Beaded Crepe Chiffon Dress

Notice the intricate beading and the lovely chiffon pink fabric used for the dress.  It's a beautiful alternative to a LBD standard for receptions and garden parties for spring and summer.  This dress reminds me of a flapper dress from way back, when dresses were more intricate, with the fringes and beading, you'll certainly be the belle of the party!

Blissful Woven Top $33.80(CDN)

Peasant tops are so cute during summer.  They are so light and airy looking and the lace adds that extra feminine touch to it.  This top, in my opinion can go from day to night and can be dressed up either way, depending on your occasion!

It can be paired with a pair of white shorts, or jeans to make a casual chic daytime look or a pair of white skinny pants or cropped pants to give that casual date night chic elegance.

Crochet Embodied Skirt.

It's kinda like a doily at first glance, but it's such a cute boho-chic skirt! I love how it's got the intricate patterned weave to it (a trend for spring, hint hint!)  If you are one of those ladies that just adore the boho chic styles of summer, I'd say this is a must for your new wardrobe!

Lace Brocade Tunic $29.80(CDN)

I absolutely adore this tunic. If you've seen 'Georgia Rule', you'll see in the beginning episode that Lindsay Lohan's character is wearing this adorable summer frock while walking along the side of a deserted road lol.  As memorable as that movie was, the dress itself caught my eye.  In the spring and summer months when everyone is trying to bring out their true colours, and wear the summer brights, i always gravitate to the whites.  I love the crisp clean look of it.  Much like the character's dress in the movie, this tunic looks uber adorable as a summertime outfit.  If you'd like to transition this into a night time look, a simple wedge in an earthy tone and a shawl will do!

Patent Peeptoe - Aren't these just the cutest? It reminds me of the 80s movie I loved as a young teen, 'Pretty in Pink'.  Molly Ringwald was such a rebel in pink! These were more from Forever 21's Prom collection.  It only came in sizes 6-11 i believe, so I'm pretty much out of luck lol.  For those of you looking to accent your summer whites and neutrals, pink is a hot contrast without the dark tones of yester-season lol.  It's almost like the red of summer, a nice punch of pastel with neutrals.  I've got a similar pair of pink patents, though mine came from Nine West =) luv'em!
Okay, so 'these are just a few of my favourite things'...lol joking! If you've watched 'Sound of Music' you'd understand! haha. In all seriousness, these are just a few things i've perused online at Forever 21.  I chose Forever 21 as a key place to shop because they offer pretty good prices for what you'd sometimes find for more than $100 at other stores.

If you're in Canada (or certain parts of US) you can always check out Sirens, Costa Blanca or Urban Behavior for comparison shopping...I always find lots of goodies there too! =)

A new sunday's best =)

beats:: collide - howie day

outfit of the day:: white v-neck shirt from XX1, black 'Garage' Leggings, Aldo sheepskin boots. (cold, windy day!)

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: Aritzia winfred shawl.

It's been such a weird weather day for me...It started with a fierce wind and rain that tapped our windows from every angle..

sure scurred me! lol.

Then the sunshine pushed its way in and cleared the path to a warm-- but still chilly, day.  How unpredictable weather seems to be these days!

I am sadly, without  my phone today, and it feels like I'm without my right arm....It's been one of those days where there couldn't be anymore things I could've forgotten as I dashed out the door to work...It's a monday, afterall!

I wish the sun would just stay put so I could wear my purdy dresses already!
Its obvious I'm still on my dress obsession...and the latest one in my collection, again from Marciano, is a beauty!

I'm so excited for the warmer weather (without the heavy winds!!) to be able to wear this dress, especially for an occasion that is worth the wear!  It reminds me so much of the Easter dresses, with it's pastel green and pink shade.

This is a stunner in it's own way, not so much in a sexy siren like image, but in a clean, formal garden party-ish kinda way.  I love the ode to the bandage style with its layers of colour against the white background.  It gives the dress a hint of colour without having it overpower the clean lines of the dress.

It will be perfect for a garden reception at a wedding, going to church or even brunch with the girls!

Loves it!~*
