Shopping for a cause!

Aah! It's super sunny today! *Yay!*

I love shopping for any reason; Whether it be shopping for an outfit for a special event, presents for birthdays, anniversaries etc or even just for leisure.  Nothing relaxes me more or brings me great pleasure than being able to shop!  It brings me even more joy to know that you can also shop and get a discount by helping the less fortunate!

Jacob retail clothing is offering for a limited time for any customers to bring in an article of clothing and get 25% off their regular priced purchases!  I think that it's more than a fair deal considering you'll not only help those less fortunate by giving them a piece of clothing you don't need, but it will help de-clutter the closet with a new item you buy!

I love shopping for a good cause.... =)

Monday of discontent.

beats:: memories - david guetta ft kid cudi

OOTD:: Garage Henley 3/4 sleeve tee and leggings, Sirens over the knee boots and Juicy Scarf

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: Juicy Wool scarf

It's been one of those gloomy days...

It's been such a bad weather day today, I would rather just be at home and sleep.  Why oh why did I have to go to work today!?

My love for fall has been given a rude awakening today when I left my doorstep to an ugly mess of rain and wind on my way to work.  I still love fall, although I now remember the ugly part of the season lol.  I have been rekindled with my cold weather gear, taking out one piece after another of cold weather items that help keep my lil' self cozy.

As of late, I have been using my scarf, crochet toque, boots and even my thermal socks at times (if you can believe it, it's just that cold in my mind! lol) but the last of the gear will be the earmuffs and I guess the down jacket, which I know will come soon, but I'm hesitant too admit that Fall has come full blown with a vengeance from last year's mousy weather.  This year promises to be a crazy, cold winter, and as I've mentioned previously--I've heard the coldest in over 50 years.  I'd love to see some snow this year, but I'm also fearful that it will come in bunches.

Be careful what you wish for I guess...

I look forward to some calmer weather....At this point, I'm just hoping for a cloudy, calm day.  One can't be too greedy and ask for some sunshine when one sees pouring rain, wind gusts and darkness!

I hope everyone's monday isn't as bad indoors as it looks outdoors.  Keep warm and cozy!

I heart Cable!

Several years ago Jacob came out with this Cable knit turtleneck sweater in cream that was to die for! I love the thick knit of it, and it just looked so plush and luxurious, like a cable knit throw you wanna just envelop you on a cold day.  I was never able to buy it, what with my situation as a starving student back then.  It has haunted me ever since lol.  Just like my great cape search, the cable knit sweater has been one of those elusive items on  my list of must haves that has never been checked off--at least, not quite yet.

It's not that the cable knit doesn't come out every year, there are certainly lots of variations on it, with hood or without, zippers and different colours.  I think it's my picky nature that has prevented me from buying just any kind of cable knit sweater.  I've been meticulous about what kind and the feel of sweater I want.  If I am to wear this all around for the rest of the cold weather, wouldn't it be smart to wear a sweater that feels like a blanket instead of a burlap sack??

Here is one option that I found recently...

Back to basics: Winter 2010 Edition!

I've been hearing lately that because of the whole La Nina phenomenon, Vancouver is supposedly going to be getting the worst winter since 50 years ago.  If that hasn't scared me, I don't know what will! lol.  I am convinced that I am more than ever going to need more cozy, winter-proof clothes to keep me from getting sick this winter!

I recently went to Aritzia with my cousin because I've been dying to see their henley tee's.  I have been looking for henleys all summer long for fall and finally, they start coming out, slowly but surely! I recently bought one from Garage.  Not too long ago, they were not so easy to find!

The one I ended up buying...

It wasn't too expensive, just $19.90 (CDN).  100% cotton and very soft!  I love when my basic wear is suuuper soft! =)

Then a couple of days ago, I perused the Aritzia website hoping that they'd at last put up a catalogue of items they sell, at least some if not all and at least from their TNA line if nothing else!  Huzzah! they did!=)

Here are the henleys I found from Aritiza...

Community Wool Henley - Retail $60 (CDN) - Wool/Nylon Blend for a soft feel without the super itch I can only imagine lol.  I recently saw this in person (even asking the salesperson to find it for me! lol) and I have to say, it doesn't have the feel of wool.  The price seems abit steep but for wool, I guess it should be right on the money.

The other is The TNA Henley Tee version.  I think it's only cotton, but I wasn't able to find it so I'll have to confirm once I see it in person this weekend.
TNA Henley T-shirt - Retail $45 (CDN)
Standard henley tee, great for layering on top of tanks for more warmth.  I love the white, though the details are hard to see in this image.

Having a jacket that provides maximum protection and warmth for winter time is important, but so is knowing how to dress warmly for indoors as well.  Sometimes, it's just as important to know how to layer to keep warm while outside but not be too warm once you get indoors.

The Big Chill

beats:: tears for fears - everybody wants to rule the world

OOTD:: Black Zara Blazer, White Forever 21 v-neck t-shirt, Garage Black Leggings, BEBE black/cream booties.

fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: my black/cream booties from bebe! luvs!

Like I've been mentioning, the colder weather is here...I mean definitely here.

I've been coming home late nights feeling the big chill in the air, and even though the sun manages to shine during the daytime I still feel a tingling chill up my spine that tells me it's not summer anymore! lol.  I loved summer, but I'm somewhat looking forward to what the fall/winter season will bring.  I have been seeing countless number of sales at the malls for outerwear, anticipating for the cold return of the winter air.

I've been thinking recently that one of the pieces I need to replace this year would be my cream coat.  I love the cream coat and I'd hate to lose it, but it looks all beaten up and may need replacing.  Sad but true.  I hate shopping for coats.  I used to grab the first cheap coat I found and buy it, but there's more to consider these days when buying winter outerwear.

For any outerwear I buy for the colder weather (excluding my blazers) I always try to look at the inside tags to give me an indication on the level of warmth it will give.  I am fussy when it comes to staying warm--I am sensitive to the heat and cold, so having the right level of warmth is very important to me.

In the next few weeks, I will be shopping around for a new winter coat and a down jacket, maybe even a peacoat and will take this blog through my agonizing journey to replace my old cream coat and my Ralph Lauren Down jacket.  While the RL down jacket may survive one or two more winters, the cream coat from Zara will be sorely missed! lol.

beautiful sunshine and biebs!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood indeed.  The sun is shining, the temp outside is reminiscent of spring, and of course for millions of tweens everywhere, it's a bieber invasion in Vancity! aah! lol.

Justin Bieber is in town tonight for (what I'm guessing is a sold out) concert at the Rogers Arena tonight.

Tons of tweens will be packing up the stadium, which I gather will draw up more of a crowd than any sports events or other concerts that have gone and went in the arena!  Think Boybands and Pop idols. haha.  I'm not so much a fan, but I do think he's majorly adorable and I can see why the teeny boppers are going crazy over him lol.  He's got the cute puppydog charm down.

I know, it's got nothing to do with fashion or anything I'm really inspired about, but hey, it's pop culture! lol.

Go biebs! lol.

Inspiration in Elegance...loves!

October is two weeks away from being over, and the Holiday season is fast approaching.  How quickly time flies!  I am starting to look for Holiday Outfit inspiration for some up-coming holiday festivities.  One being the big to-do for Shaw company that I luckily get to attend with my bf every year, being that he's a loyal employee.

One inspiration I recently fell inlove with was from Victoria Beckham's book.  It was a Roberto Cavalli gown from 2005.

I love this gown...The pattern is simply gorgeous.  If you're thinking it must remind you of something, you are indeed correct! It resembles a porcelain vase! lol.

More cape madness! lol

The cold weather is just pushing through here which makes me miss Vegas and its weather even more.  I am more than ever looking for warm, cozy clothes to fill my Fall/Winter Collection.  As usual, I am still obsessed about Capes and Ponchos.  While there are lots to choose from when it comes to wraps and ponchos, the structured cape/coat is somewhat elusive.

In comes Zara.

I was checking out the website and found these two breath-taking Capes that are both under $200.

Hazzah! I love Zara...It's affordable work clothing that is also stylish and trendy.  You don't have to break the bank to look trendy and fashionable at work!

I was at Zara earlier today, but alas, did not see these.  I will be on the lookout on my next Zara excursion!

Show & Tell: Over the knee boots

Vegas was awesome...I loved the shopping and the night life.  As much as I'm having vegas withdrawals, I sure do miss my stuff back home...One of them being my over-the-knee boots.

Roberto Vianni Over-the-Knee boots

MSRP $129.95

I am inlove with them! The shoes are comfy, and it goes over the knee, almost mid-thigh!  Crazy length, but when I tried them on, it was like love at first sight!

Part of my fall/winter must-haves! lol

I can't wait to take them out for a spin!

Ralph Lauren Blue Label: Capes & Ponchos

Capes have been a love of mine for awhile now.  I've been long searching for the perfect cape to include in my fall-winter warmth wardrobe.  I sooo loved the cream cape that Victoria Beckham wore in a papparazzi pic...pure love.
Recently I've been seeing pics of Kim Kardashian sporting an array of Capes and Ponchos as well...I loved her recent one from Ralph Lauren, the Camel Coloured Cashmere Turtleneck Poncho--so beautiful! I decided to check out the website for other styles and ideas--it was heaven.  I forgot how much I loved RL Blue Label....Right up my alley of Equestrian fashion--my long gone fashion fave lol.

Here are some capes and ponchos I thought were too cute not to show!

I have been BCBG obsessed lately...I love all their bandage skirts, fits like a glove! I recently wore the purple textured power skirt to two events and have gotten some great compliments from them!

It was a big hit at Tao Nightclub Las Vegas as well! lol...it's nice to be appreciated for the way one dresses...I soooo love it!  I recently bought the green one at the outlet store and I'm uber excited to wear it!
