Everyday Make-up Essentials
I find that my everyday beauty routine is simplified during the weekdays for work and only after hours and on the weekend do I get to be creative! I have to say, being creative has been much easier lately with some beauty essentials from MAC Cosmetics that I've come to love!
My palette has been my absolute fave since I got it a year ago.
I've been using it for home as well as travel, and it has saved valuable toiletries space when I do take it with me for travel! I barely buy eyeshadows in duos, trios or quads because all I have to do is buy refills for my palette and away I go!
I technically need 1 refill left to fill the space and I'm done with my first palette! I am thinking of buying another, but don't want to rush too much because buying too many will just end up being a waste of money if you don't use it all!
I love neutrals (as you can clearly see!) and the basis of smokey eyes, black and a dark, shimmery blue/purple almost midnight navy color.
Another essential I use in my daily makeup routine is the MAC Painpots. It is the newer version of paints, cream shadows used for a base or primer even by itself it stands out! It helps to prevent creasing and helps the eyeshadows pop.
I use 'Soft Ochre' and 'Rubenesque'
One more essential that I can think of (which by no means is the last) is my lip glosses. I love nicely glossed lips for a night out--I mostly prefer nude to siren red on most nights. I am always on the look out for the perfect nude lips to compliment a beautiful smokey eye. Hence, my mini collection.
I've heard that smokey eye works best when it's the feature of the face, and everything else must not stand out to compete. A bright red lip with a dark, smokey eye will just make the look a hot mess, so the perfect nude lip (which by the way, more than one make-up artist has attested to) will compliment without taking away from the smokey eye. I tend to agree. It's a beautiful look when done right, not too overwhelming or crazy.
That's pretty much it for my make-up essentials for now...There's always more, I haven't even talked about my MAC Fix plus! lol but that's for next time! =)

My fave new lipgloss!
It's such a beautiful New Year's Eve day! It's a sign of good things to come I think! I am happy.
I recently bought a new lipgloss that I love--Cremesheen Glass in Fashion Whim (how appropriate for my blog!) from MAC. I've been trying to find the perfect nude pout and this is one step closer! I tried to buy the 'Natural Look' Sephora Brand, and it was all out of stock! bleh.
I love the sheen (hence the name I guess!) and the colour as well. I've been using it lately, even for Christmas Eve dinner.
I am still on the lookout for the perfect nude lipgloss though!

Heat Insulated styling Iron Bag
I thought that I did pretty good at the mall today...
I was there to just get errands done but after I had brought my drycleaning to the Cleaners and had stopped by Sephora to check out certain items that I was considering buying, I thought I'd stop by Shoppers to buy the last of my 'essentials*'.
I was just there to buy my eye make-up remover while multi-tasking (translation: rounding the store whilst talking on the phone with the bf) I happened upon those heat resistant pouches for the hot iron styling tools so that you won't have to wait until they cool down when you're on the go and need to pack after using. I recently went on a trip and had thought it would have been cool to find one for cheap before going for my weekend trip to Seattle--but no such luck! I thought it was lucky by chance that I did happen to not only find it, but on sale nonetheless! Hurray for me!
read on to find out!

The Sonic Treatment. Yay or Nay?
There are days that I must admit, sleep is more of a luxury than a necessity. My schedule goes into over-drive, and thus, so does my anxiety and hormones. There are days when my hormones are so out of whack that I break out in an instant the moment anything--and I mean anything touches my face.
Houston err--i mean Vancouer, we have a problem...
My skin has improved tremendously since my adolescent years--thank god! and I am determined to keep it that way! I am adamant that my skin care routine not only keep my face clear but also be a preventative measure against any blemishes or imperfections. I am also determined however, to keep my skin care routine simple as I am not a girl that likes to fuss about these things. One thing I hate to do is buy endless amount of creams and serums for hundreds of dollars and take most of the night to get my face ready for bed!
I've been recently hearing about the Clarisonic Facial skin care system. It's the same company that made the sonic care toothbrush. There are so many products and tools out in the market that claim to do wonderous things for your skin and improve it for small price...

Make-up in the spotlight.
I thought I'd take the time out to talk make up. Ever so often, I get that 'if you were stuck on an island..' game, and the question of what make-up I would take if I ever got stranded on one, and actually I don't know. It always seems to change...I thought I'd shine a light on my makeup bag and it's contents. Then maybe I'd figure out what I can and can't live without in the process lol. Though if you've seen my make-up bag that I take with me everyday, it's going to become obvious why it's so hard for me to take just one thing on an island! lol
To make it easy, I've numbered everything instead of taking a pic of each and every piece on it's own like I usually do =)

I luvv Orgasm...(in Nars blush i mean! *lol*)
beats:: bedrock - trey songz & drake
outfit of the day:: Bluenotes plaid boyfriend rollup shirt, black leggings & over-the-knee boots
fave fashion accessory of the day/moment:: for the day? my chanel sunglasses =)
Hello sunshine! ...and of course, to you all! =)
It's such a beautiful day that I just had to whip out my sunglasses! First sunny day in a few days...I'm so happy I can hardly contain myself! *lol*
Anwhoos...this is a quickie blog about my fave new blush...Actually it came from a haul in Vegas I had. It's the Nars Blush in Orgasm. It's just the most gorgeous colour!! The only con I see is it goes on quite intense at first if not blended accordingly, but if you apply it with a stippling blush brush (which I still lack, and is on my future Sephora haul list!) it will go on just beautifully!
If you want to check it out yourself and read some customer reviews on it, heres the link:
Sephora - Nars blush in Orgasm
This is my first ever try from Nars, and I have to tell you, I am a believer =) Of course, as with makeup, you never want to just instantly buy every single product cause there's always a trial and error period. It was either the Dior Limited edition blush in the image of a flower and a beatiful case (which was just too over priced in my opinion!) or this, then Nars works for its price of $26 (USD).
Have a blushingly beautiful day in the sunshine!~*
Also, Happy St. Patrick's Day! <3
