TGIF: Flower Blazer for fridate!

Whenever the sunshine shows up and the end of the week rolls up, it's sure everyone's making a run for the door before the end of the work day--I'm no exception.  I love Vancouver all year round (even in the freezing temps!) but nothing shows Vancouver's beauty and wonder like a nice sunny day (be it winter, summer spring or fall) especially at the end of the week!

I was inspired by the beauty of the day and thus, for our weekly fridate I decided to dress with the spring blooms in mind. To check out what I wore...

Yaletown

We had an early dinner at Romer's Burger at Yaletown to start friday off...This place has a reputation for delicious burgers and is applauded by both the hipsters and the more trendy alike.

As far as burgers go, it's pretty good and there was certainly a healthy portion of it.  Bf had the mushroom burger while I had the wicked cheese burger (with bacon of course!) and we shared a plate of pulled pork poutine.

Yaletown, one of the trendier areas in downtown--think Soho or the Meat packing district? was once an industrial area that turned into the place to be. Unfortunately in recent years it's gotten a reputation for being slightly on the snooty side ever since all the lounges and restos started flocking in.  What was once an exclusive, unpretentious place for the local downtown suit and ties to go to escape the other more upscale places in other parts of downtown.  I still find it a great watering hole on a friday night--certainly still one of my faves when it comes to having drinks and chillin  out.

One con to this area--the parking! It can be a pain to find if you are not willing to valet, and when you do find parking, chances are you will pay an arm and a leg for it! lol. I would say be prepared to bring your laundromat quarters if you are bringing a vehicle, otherwise a taxi is always a great alternative.  There are tons of them swarming around so going home won't be a problem either!

Still love Yaletown tho!

As you can tell I've got tremendous pride in my city, and why not? it's a great city.

Right before running a errand, we decided to stop off at another recent fave of mine.  The area in False Creek where the former Olympic Village is has been a nice spot since the rest of the area has been developed further.  Tap & Barrel, London Drugs and even the False Creek Community Centre round up the area!
